Timeless classic!!
The CD arrived in excellent condition & this album is one of my very favorite albums of all time!! I’ve loved this album since 1985 when I had the cassette tape. It sounds even better in my car taking me right back to 1985 when Whitney Houston was on the radio and on MTV all the time.😁😁

Whitney's debut: satisfying from beginning to end
Arista Records celebrates the 25th anniversary release of Whitney Houston's debut album with a satisfying dose of nostalgia. The deluxe edition features improved CD sound quality, five bonus tracks, and an expanded booklet.A 41-minute DVD accompanies the CD, including rare TV performance clips, special interviews from Houston and Arista record executive Clive Davis, and promotional music videos from the album. In his interview, Davis, who discovered Houston at an Upper West Side nightclub in New York, reveals the excitement he felt hearing Houston's voice for the first time, describing it as "a natural vocal gift."That natural vocal gift lay the foundation for Whitney Houston's eponymously-titled first studio album, a blend of ballads, duets, and mid-tempo dance songs. The balladry yields the best moments on the album--the carefully-chosen material allowing Houston's powerful voice to soar effortlessly over incredible vocal heights in "You Give Good Love," "Saving All My Love for You," and "Greatest Love of All." It remains a feat that few contemporary singers in pop music have been able to match. The album closes with the tender "Hold Me," Houston's duet with the late Teddy Pendergrass, a song that first appeared on Pendergrass' 1984 album Love Language (a full year prior to Houston's debut release).(Collector's note: One minor oversight in the reissue was to include the more popular single remix of "How Will I Know" instead of the original mix of the song, which first appeared on early editions of the 1985 album. This now-elusive mix started differently and used an alternate vocal during the bridge solo.)Greatest Hits of All: Saving All My Love for You, You Give Good Love, How Will I Know, Greatest Love of All

Whitney's best album
This is the epic first album from Whitney Houston released in 1985.I've always thought this was her best work because the song structures were simple and it helped to launch her career into new heights. This album contains the early hits such as "saving all my love for you" "all at once" "greatest love of all" and the infectious,"how will I know" with it's signature opening synth line is my favorite Whitney Houston song. It's sort of like a marriage proposal song in an indirect way. This album also has the famous duets with Jermaine Jackson and Teddy Pendergrass which sounded good. The other songs were surprisingly good especially the opening song,"you give good love" which gets the album off to a good start and "thinking about you" and "someone for me" also sounded catchy as well.Overall, this album made for some pleasant listening. The songs were creative, the melodies were refreshing, the lyrics were inspiring and Whitney's voice sounds better than ever and really hitsthe high notes to perfection. My only criticism was the duet "hold me" got a bit long and the verses were repetitive but that was not unusual given the time period the album was made but the song was still good. There are no fillers, every song is fun to listen to in its own way.Other albums made after this one were good, but this was a sentimental favorite with me because it captures Whitney at the top of her game.If you were to own just one album from her, this is a true masterpiece that I would highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing!!!
Whitney Houston set the standard for pop and r&b music that has never been matched. This album/cd showcases her perfect voice at the beginning of what would be a legendary career. This is by far the best album by a solo female artist.Whitney's voice was indeed touched by God. Key highlights on this cd were..(1)Saving All My Love, (2)All at Once, (3)How Will I Know, (4)You Give Good Love, (5)Hold Me and the showstopper of showstoppers - (6)The Greatest Love of All.After listening to this album the only word that can describe the experience is..."AMAZING"

Whitney Houston CD . . .
Although, Whitney Houston has died I believe that her music lives on; this was one of her best set of songs at the beginning of her career in music and I appreciate the fact that AMAZON still offered it for on-line purchase at a low COST!
