I'd searched for ages to find a cheese slicer that does not have a big gap and makes thick slices. This slicer has a nice slim gap and makes slices at just the right thickness.

Solid and good value

..after only a few uses the head became loose where it connects to the handle, so it rattles and water can get into the handle when you wash it. Also likely that it will evetually come apart with enough use.Still slices cheese just fine, but would not buy it again.

Great little cheese slicing device.Solid and well built and affordable.Easy to clean and made from reliable materials.

Seems fairly sturdy, but my other half dislikes how thickly this slices the cheese, our previous one got too blunt after some 40 years . So, it does the job if you like thick, me, I am on the hunt again.

As a collector of Cheese Slicers I have came across this beauty by chance when a friend sent me a picture as he knew that I would be interested. Here is a selection of the cheese that I have cut so far... Cheddar, Red Leicester, Edam, Double Gloucester x2. I have wrapped the handle with a tennis racket grip to allow for maximum comfort and this has in tern increased the amount of time I can cut for without suffering from cramp. As you see from the photos the slicer cuts cheese much thinner than a knife would, and in fact so thin that it cannot be measured with a standard tape measure, this was my 4th attempt. It cannot cut sandwiches, maybe it could cut just bread I would have to try and re review.

After years of making cheese sandwiches with a knife, I came across this (while looking for something completely different, of course - Amazon is like that).It's brilliant. So much easier to use than a knife, with consistent results (same thickness of slice) every time.It works best on hard, non-crumbly cheese. With crumbly cheese, the slice often falls apart during the transfer from slicer to bread. But even then it's still much easier than a knife.Dishwasher safe? Well, it's been through the dishwasher maybe a dozen times and it still looks like new, so yes, it seems to be.It feels solid and well made so should last.
