Good toy
My grandson aged 15 months is fascinated with the household Dyson but of course this is deemed "unsuitable" as a plaything. Well done Casden for recognising this opportunity to offer a smaller and lighter version which is indeed suitable. It has given lots of pleasure and so far has not broken. A key point is that it stands up on its own. Indeed the little chap has only just started to walk and gripping the handle helps him up.I read previous reviews before I splashed out. The three position switch "off/wand suction/growling noise" is not stiff so maybe the makers have listened. However push buttons would have been preferable to a slide switch.Indeed the cleaner does not pick up from the main carpet fitting on "growl" setting but there is suction through the flexible tube on the first on setting. Although weak it will pick up "crumbs" of polystyrene packing material. I would recommend this toy.Added 9th Feb 2013 - Ten months later my Grandson still loves this toy. He is strong enough now to have no problem with the slide switch and has learned to switch off after "use" to save the admittedly expensive batteries. Most electrical toys nowadays have a feature which automatically powers off after a few minutes and this would be an improvement. The plastic construction is not particularly strong and several repairs with glue and tape have been required. Fun per pound? Still 5 star.

17 month old loves it
I bought this for my grandson for Christmas. Casdon has always been good quality, so I took a chance. This vacuum is no different. The suction will not clean the carpet...it is a toy...but it does pick up small, light grains. The beads spinning fascinates my grandson as does the noise! As he gets older/taller, he will be able to utilise the attachments and empty it for himself, ensuring lasting play. Very happy with this toy

Fab fun but flimsy
Immediately became a firm favourite with my one year old son - toy of choice 50% of play time. Fantastic that it really picks up bits with nossle attachment (very noisy doing so though). Sadly played with by visiting friends (aged one and two - who also loved it) who are a bit rougher and quickly the plastic that fixes the front on broke so will not push forward. So much play value though going to have to get another for my son - he loves it that much!Have contacted Dyson, who say that they are aware of this weakness and are bringing out a newer improved model from end September 2009, if you get one you might like to check it's the new model.

Toy Dyson Hoover
I was abit worried after reading the reviews that were all quite negative towards the durability of this toy saying it breaks easily but after receiving this I'm very pleased!! My son is two years old and loves it..yes it will break if it's thrown around as all toys would but it's bright colours and the beads that spin make it a really fun toy..the suction comes from the hose not the Hoover (let's be honest if it came from the Hoover we wouldn't be buying dysons at £200+ and may possibly be busted for unage labour)!! Overall really happy so don't be put off buying this toy if your little one is anything like mine he's spends his day trying to do what mummy and daddy do and loves it!

Xmas disappointment
We bought this previously for our grandson and it was such a success we purchased another one for his cousin. This one has however arrived without front wheels so cannot be pushed along. Hoping for a quick response and supply of wheels from the manufacturer Edit: received a response from manufacturer saying this item is discontinued so they cannot send us a replacement or spare part. So i was surprised to see this is still for sale here. The manufacturer offered us a free replacement from the current range and it arrived quickly but it's still disappointing as it's not the item we wanted. Granddaughter loves it though so all ended ok I suppose

Keeps my son engrossed for hours every day
Bought this toy for my son. He is scared of the real dyson and I thought it might help. It has made him a little less scared, but more than that...it is the only toy he really plays with anymore since we bought it. He loves it! It is the first toy he asks for when he wakes up or comes home after being out.7 weeks after we bought it the hose snapped. I emailed the supplier on a Sunday to say I wasn't happy and would have expected it to last longer. A replacement hose arrived through the post on Tuesday morning. Absolutely excellent customer service. Thank you very much.

Great toy
Although I read all the reviews and I was a bit sceptical I went ahead & bought this for my 3 year old boy for Christmas. He is scared of my Dyson so I thought this might help him & it did. He absolutely loved it and even became less afraid of the real thing, he even started using my little hand held Dyson! So for that alone it was well worth it. It does use batteries quite quickly but my little boy used it every day almost the whole day. I wasn't as flimsy as I expected but I could see that it wasn't a toy for life but for under £15 I have been very pleased with my purchase.

Super cute little hoover toy
Super cute little hoover toy! My son is obsessed with our Hoover and will always follow it around as we 'try' to hoover up. We bought him this for his first birthday and although he is under the recommended age for it he still gets lots of fun out of it and at 13 months was able to push it around like he was really hoovering! We store it with the real Hoover so that it is more exciting for him when it comes out. The Hoover itself is well made with a few little attachments he'll be able to play with when he gets a bit older. When switched on it whips the little rubber pieces up into a cyclone or you can use another mode for really hoovering up little pieces of paper etc. We haven't tried that yet but he really just seems to love pushing it around. I should say however he is on the 98th centile for height and has only just began to start pushing it around without constantly tripping. Smaller toddlers may find it a little tricky to handle.
