Can't live without porcini
I use a lot of dried porcini these days, mostly in my own version of Bolognese sauce and alongside standard field mushrooms in risotto - the umami flavour imparted is incredible. I have been using 25g packets of Merchant Gourmet Porcini Mushrooms from the local supermarket, but at a couple of quid a pop it's rather expensive. So rather glad to find these megapacks, which on Amazon's subscribe & save work out at around half the price. And these Cooks & Co ones are just as good as the Merchant Gourmet. One thing you may need to be aware of however is that the size of the pieces of these Cooks & Co varies rather wildly compared to the somewhat more uniform size of the pieces in Merchant Gourmet's packets. Not a problem for me as for my recipes I always chop them fairly finely after rehydrating, but if you are wanting to keep them whole it may be a different matter.

Great value
This is a great value product, and is the second time I have purchased it.The cêpes add a delicious flavour to many dishes and can be used still dry or reconstituted with a little water. Definitely will purchase again.

Up 20% in just 2 years?
Used to be good value for money but the cost is now extortionate.

Great flavour and great value for money
I got fed up with buying very small expensive packs of porcini mushrooms and decided to go for this product. It has been great. Really good quality and value for money, this is the only way I will purchase porcini mushrooms from now onward.

Chinese garbage for 25£.
25£ for Chinese garbage… I don’t know who pay 25£ to purchase this crap again. May be these people has never tasted porcini mushrooms in their life. The mushrooms in this PET jar are not real Boletus edulis at all. I could say that this mushrooms are not a porcini. I think they are Suillus and that’s why they are so cheap. There are so many quality porcini in Europe! Why this company import this crap from China? "Selected with great care" They are selected by whom? Regarding that, Probably they don’t follow any common regulations when they pick and transport this mushrooms to France where they pack them? I can’t see any ISO standards on their label. Are they really save for eating? Also they didn't hydrated well when I put them in the water. This is another sign for this crap in the jar.The colour is too dark. When I put them in my risotto my rise became grey instead of the usual light brown colour. After that I put my risotto into the bin.And they smell very bad…..I won’t buy this crap again for sure.

Mushrooms
Mushrooms work out to be a great price when bought like this. Small amount of warm water brings them to life.
