We have a wide, narrow trench drain in our custom tiled shower. You need something like this to get the cover off. I was using a clothes hanger that I cut and bent. This is a much better option and I'm glad Vine recommended it to me. The two hooks are small enough to stow somewhere nearby or can be hung by the rounded part, which is convenient. They're actual manufactured products, not some bent up hanger like I was using, so there's that. They grab a standard metal drain cover and pull it up with ease, and having two works well for the wide trench drains like we have. The hooks are sturdy so you don't have to worry about bending them unless you're really trying. I'm not sure what else to say. $9 seems a just little steep for what these are, but the utility is worth it.

Simple tool that solves a problem for me. My long shower drain is set very tight in the floor so it’s always a pain to get off and I’m afraid I’m going to break the marbles around it trying to pry it off with a screwdriver. You can hook these on both ends and pull from two different directions straight up and it easily pops out. Now I will be able to clean out my drain more regularly.

Meh, they work but clearly Chinese metal quality. I’m sure they won’t last long since they are fairly thin & small. For the price I was expecting larger stronger drain pulls.
