Doesn't live up to expectations - don't waste your money !
I had high hopes for this vacuum given the water filter as I have been through 3 vacuums w/ regular filters to date. I live in TX where we have fine dirt which gets tracked into my house on the regular by 4 active dogs who also contribute to the household by shedding constantly. While it is true that the vacuum does not lose suction, the vacuum cannot suction because the roller holds onto the hair (see picture). Once the roller clogs, the vacuum blows back dirt (gross) In addition, The vacuum is VERY heavy and the cannister for the water is not designed properly, it had to be gently forced to click into place, not a good thing when the water sloshes about. Now, if you're a "normal" home without fine dirt and 4 messy dogs, this vacuum may be good for you BUT if you're a normal" home do you really need to spend $400+ on a vacuum?

I've been a cleaning fool!
Last month, after wanting to throw my old vacuum through the window (it was EXPELLING more dust than it was INHALING) I texted my family and said I WANT A NEW VACUUM FOR CHRISTMAS. My husband immediately texted back and asked if he could have that in writing :) I figured the text was enough. After deciding I wanted something that used water as a filtration system instead of the endless parade of filters that you have to buy for regular vacs. I came across the Quantum X, and after reading a bunch of reviews, decided to go ahead and try it. I. AM. AMAZED! It wasn't nearly as heavy as I expected it to be after reading some of the reviews, and it's SO NICE not to have dust going in one end and coming out the other just as fast. Made it frustrating to even TRY and clean knowing all that dust is going right back into the air. I got it Friday, Dec. 15th and have spent hours cleaning with it. What the water catches is definitely eye opening, and will encourage you to clean more, especially if you've been using an old paper or sponge filter type of vac. We have a black lab mix, so LOTS of hair. Plus, living on the edge of the woods with only gravel for the drive, and heating exclusively with wood, it gets DUSTY. I love that I can put a few drops of essential oil in the water and not only does it smell great, it's also not mixed with that "vacuum" smell that you get from the filter vacs. Just clean, fresh air coming out. My dusting time around the house has been reduced tremendously. My husband said our bathroom in the master bedroom was so clean he almost didn't want to use it! All the above being said, I have to agree that the suction is not so great when using the hose/brush attachments. If you just use the hose and the crevice tool, suction is great, but it seems to lose it a bit when the brush attachments are being used. This is not a deal breaker for me as it still has suction, just not as much. The chord is a bit weird as it doesn't have the usual hooks on the body that you can wind it around. Again, not a deal breaker, but it is different. Also, I couldn't figure out where the "on" button was until I plugged it in and saw it light up on the front panel. Doh! Should have read the manual a little closer... All in all, I would recommend this to anyone who can afford it and is serious about a clean house.

No dust!
Our vacuum went out last Wed. I have been reviewing the Quantum. Read thousands of reviews. Decided since ours went out, I would get it through Amazon instead of Quantum( I explain at the end). Our vacuum came on Sat. My husband was more excited because he vacuums the most. Our excitement was short lived when we realized that the screw and plug that connects the handle was not in the box.I immediately called Quantum service, however they are only open Min.-Fri. Est.🙄I left a message early Mon. By Monday afternoon, I called and left another message as all service reps were busy. I told my husband that I will box this sucker up and get a return and order another one if they don’t call back. Which is why I ordered from Amazon, because of the 30 day return. All the reviewers that needed to return vacuum through Quantum within 30 days , had to pay shipping . That’s the reason I went through Amazon. After a couple hours, I called another 800#, which then routed me to the service number. Left another message that I was not happy so far with service. So my impatient husband, found a small wooden dowel and put in the handle to connect it, and taped it.He had fun vacuuming! Just looked awful to have a brand new vacuum with tape on it.On Wed . Am, at 6am our time, I heard my home number ring in the kitchen. By the time I got to it, they hung up. I figured it was a solicitor that forgot time zone. When I checked called ID, it showed it was Quantum. I immediately called back. Thankfully , I got a human! I explained what happened.. He said “ This happens a thousand times and is always overlooked. “I thought “ then the packing Dept needs to make sure the screw and plug is in the box!”At this point, he told me to open the box and look at both of the styrofoams. He said that there will be a small 4 inch piece that will look like a cutout and put back.We didn’t see any on the first piece. We flipped the second piece over and lo and behold there’s the screw and plugged taped on the styrofoam, not in a compartment. Whew!!! So glad I didn’t have to order one. I then asked about the connection of the base to the vacuum. It has a bit of movement and didn’t appear to be connected correctly. After talking to him, it was correct. Now for the vacuum. It’s not heaving that out Hoover Wind Tunnel, which I found heavy and clumbersome. After 5 min . On our carpet, the water was dirty. We have one dog and cat. Also , we had the carpet shampooed in June. We vacuumed the carpet several times and the water for better but still dirty and full of hair. Super easy to remove tank, clean and pit back. Do this slowly or you will spill!! The vacuum isn’t power driven so it’s not feather weight pushing. I love that there is no dust when you turn it on, nor is there dust omitting anywhere!Today we vacuumed again, and the water was dirty but not like it was the first time. We’re happy with it so far..Again, I would spend the extra money and get it on Amazon. At least you have free returns within 30 days. ( we also bought the warranty)If I feel differently after a couple weeks, I will update my review.

VERY HEAVY
This works great and I love the filterless cartridge but there is NOWHERE to wrap the cord and it’s super heavy to use. I’m not complaining about the weight but dang, for $375, PUT A CORD WRAP ON IT. Also it says it’s a wet vac but doesn’t say you must purchase EXTRA parts to use it as a wet vac. Deceptive. I still love it tho.

Quantum X
It's a little heavy and the wheels don't roll on thicker carpet as easily. The suction is awesome from floors to carpet. It's my first time using it and I like it.
