Kirschen 1101000 Number 1101 Firmer Chisel Set with Hornbeam Handles - Multi-Colour (6-Piece)

These are beautiful, comfortable and well made. The handles are very ergonomic, and the rear ferrule means you can whack away at them with a mallet without fear of splitting them. As a test I used one straight out the box, and it cut like a hot knife though butter.

Very nice quality chisels. Blades hone very nicely to razor sharp and hold their edge very well. Hornbeam handles are good to hold, well balanced and, having used for a while now it's clear they will resist wear from your mallet very well. Overall standard of finish is very good and these chisels are certainly worth the money.

I have used these chisels for just under two years and they successfully passed a year fine-woodworking course and plenty of chiselling tasks.They arrived in near perfect condition and certainly usable out of the box; a little lapping and honing just to hit that razor sharp edge.They seem to hold an edge nicely and I would recommend them.
