High levels
Great product but has high content of folate.Great for me on the low side however caution for those with normal/sufficient levels; as it could cause more harm than good.

Great value vitamin B9
Great value vitamin. I have problems absorbing forms of vitamin B9 so, adding this supplement daily helps resolve this and they are small capsules making them easy to swallow. There isn’t lots of unnecessary additives making it easier to digest. 😀

I have to take high strength folic acid
Due to being severely allergic to maize and over 150+ ingredients derived from maize, I can't take any prescription folic acid as all of them contain maize derived ingredients. It took me time to find this. This is, to my knowledge, 100% maize-free.Why do I have to take it? Unfortunately I'm on an immunosuppressant drug once a week and I must take up to 5mg folic acid 6 days a week to protect the liver. This works. Monthly blood tests over the past 2 years proves that taking three capsules 1 mg 6 days a week works as I've been told I need blood tests every 3 months instead of monthly. Very pleased. I think the capsule shell is maize free. No nasty maize derived magnesium stearate in these. Hope this helps others in my shoes!

Tiny, little capsules that hugely help
This is a much repeated purchase. As some other reviewers have shared, I am a MTHFR too. What a hilarious acronym, I hope not! And homozygous c677t. This is not supposed to bode well for health. I don’t notice many health issues apart from terrible migraines every few months. It’s implicated in miscarriage, I wish I had known. Not spotted by health professionals in the U.K. nor picked up abroad either despite many genetic tests that all returned clear.Once you know that you have this, keep telling health professionals, we need them to get up to speed on this. Higher demand for information will prompt further research (peer reviewed with high cohort sizes with control groups with placebos)A previous reviewer, Fiorella, has said that the manufacturer advises against use in pregnancy. This may be to cover themselves legally, just in case. It doesn’t necessarily mean something awful will occur because of this. It’s shorthand for getting advice first. Many vitamin bottles will say this on the packaging. It’s best for anyone in pregnancy to seek out a specialist who has knowledge of MTHFR and neural tube defects because this is what insufficiently absorbed folate can cause. I discovered mine through 23andme. At the time it was simply listed as a propensity towards neural tube defects and the MTHFR connection was not clear, until someone posted it on their forum with links to discovering more.I don’t know if I can say that family members have been affected by it. One great aunt had a child with Down Syndrome who was much loved and loved to a good age but nobody else however people don’t always discuss miscarriage and there are three families with only one child, whether by choice or the result of this, I don’t know.Couples seeking out a specialist with knowledge of this are often prescribed a much higher dose than this. Recent research has shown that high doses of folate in the late stages of pregnancy significantly increases the risk of autism BUT, BUT, BUT the folate used was synthetic and not methylated. It all comes back to more research again, doesn’t it! For anyone pregnant or considering it, seek out a specialist first with years of experience in this. Pregnancy is not a time to be taking guesses about doses of vitamins. And little and often is better throughout the day than a large dose of anything to prevent surges that may overwhelm. That goes for vitamin D3 and E too. If you have a reaction, it’s easier to scale back. With regard to convenience it is tiny and easy to swallow. Avoid late at night as it can awaken the senses. Leave a few hours between this and vitamin C and the tannins in tea. My hair is also a little thicker than it was. Not quite that of my 20s but of my 30s, certainly.

Vital supplement - excelelnt quality and promptly delivered!
Folate (L-Methylfolate) is a Natural form of Folic Acid that is not just for expectant mothers! I found it helpful almost immediatly on using it to lower blood presure and heart related pain. My GP said I was low in FOLIC ACID but gave no supplements! It is difficult to get folate of this quality at this doze.I now plan to buy more and keep them handy!

They work, but a caution !!
My blood test showed serum folate at 3.5 (normal range is 3 to 20) so I concluded that I might be deficient. After taking one of these a day for three weeks my blood test showed folate as out of range, greater than 20 ! This is not good, as if you research the matter you will find that high folate, while associated with a lower risk of many cancers, is associated with a higher risk of others, notably prostate. My 23andMe genetic raw data, processed through Xcode for added results (costs about £20), showed that I have two normal copies of the MTHFR gene. This gene variant is much talked about recently because the it is much less active than the normal version and while having one variant copy leaves the other copy working normally, two variant copies of would greatly reduce folate processing (to about 30%) leading to all sorts of possible consequences throughout the body. But I do have two variant copies of the MTHFD1 gene; a tri-functional enzyme involved in folate processing and methylation but in complex ways. I was wrong to assume that this might mean I needed high-dose folate, and will not be taking any more; it can take months for levels to drop back. So the product is certainly what it says it is, but should not be taken as a routine supplement without good reason and monitoring of folate levels.

Really good supplement
I was looking to up my folate levels and came across this. I’m glad I did, as it’s easy to take due to small size. Would definitely recommend
