Wow
It was pretty easy to install. I completely rewired my guitar and installed new pots. But something wasn't right, the electronics would act strange even after I would go back in and redo my soldering. I think it was wired right. It's not that complicated and sometimes it did work right. Do I decided spend some money and put this in. I don't know if it's my imagination from reading alot of reviews saying it improved the sound, but it sounds awesome. Can it make that much difference who wires it? Or maybe it's those trick capacitors but it sounds more mean. I use Seymour Duncan Invader pickups and go from a Spark 2 straight out into the head of my halfstack clean channel. It sounds amazing with the tones I get from the Spark from my amp.

No lack of power or tone
Simple review. First, soldered the leads = easy install. The highs are bright and the lows are dark as they should be. There’s no lack in output. I’ve had Gibson type guitars in the past that sounded as if they were only giving 90% of its volume and brightness. Not an issue with these. Worth my investment!

Fit & Function are top-drawer
I installed this kit into a 1997 Orville Les Paul, along with brand new DiMarzio pickups (Master PAF Neck & Air Classic Bridge), a new Switchcraft toggle switch, output jack and braided wire harness. The Emerson kit dropped into the Les Paul without any modifications. Perfect fit !!!The diameter of the knurled tops of the pot shafts measure very slightly greater than 6mm and some modification to the knobs might be required. The BIGGEST difference between this Emerson kit and the one offered by ThroBak (for example) is in the overall tone. Plugged into the same amp, with the same settings and a similar Les Paul (same DiMarzio pickups) ... this kit most definitely has a more "glassy / biting" tone. Since the ThroBak kit has authentic bumblebee caps and CTS pots, this is most likely where that difference stems from. That said ... I have absolutely no issue recommending this kit for anyone. It's easy to install, built very well and extremely quiet when plugged in. But, if you're looking for a '50s Les Paul type of tone, you won't necessarily find it with this Emerson kit.

Brings the Les Paul to life. Get it!!!!
Wow!!!!! Wow!!!!! Wow!!!!! My 2013 Les Paul Standard started to sound very bad about a uear ago. One of the pots went bad and audio started cutting out. Instead of wasting my money on Gibson replacements, I took a gamble on this Emerson kit. ....... and I’m glad that I did. Daaaaaaaaayymmnnn did this kit bring the guitar back to life and then some...... Like a whole new guitar and super expressive tone knobs!!!! But it’s still 100% Gibson Les Paul in the ears!!!! Just make sure that you hook up the wires correctly.... especially the switch.

Potentiometers Are Unreliable
When I first installed this wiring harness I was quite pleased-I thought that the tone was smooth and robust. I’ve had two pots go bad in less than four years and I expect more for a “premium” setup that cost $125. This is disappointing. Maybe a bad run of pots? I don’t know…

Good capacitors bad pot!
The solder and work done was good the capacitors are good but my volume pot for the bridge was faulty and cut in and out intermittently. I had to buy a new pot and solder it into the loom to make it work! For the price they should be checking this stuff prior to shipping! Check the pots before you install this!
