It works to make a rear usb connection more accessible
I like that it works and stays plugged in when moved. I have connected a low speed device, a keyboard, and so I have no information regarding higher speed devices using this cable.

Short and good (also: black)
This is a 6-inch extension cable for USB 2.0 devices, which I bought because one of my cables was just a tad too short but I didn't want a ton of excess cable; this fit that bill nicely. I'm sure a more common application is connecting things like USB flash drives or larger devices that don't have a cable and might block adjacent ports on some computers. As with any extension cable, one end of this is male (the end you connect to a computer) and the other is female (the end you plug the device/cable into). Most USB extension cables I've seen have the female end enclosed in plastic, but as you can see from the pictures of this cable, the female end is *not* enclosed, so you just have the bare metal outer part showing. This was actually desirable for me and is one of the reasons I chose this cable--it needed to fit inside my CordMate II, and I couldn't find an enclosed end that would fit. This one worked nicely for that. If you are just running extending a USB cable for normal purposes, this shouldn't matter--though you may actually wish to get one that *is* enclosed since it's less susceptible to damange. I actually had to return the first one of these I got to Amazon for a replacement because the female end was smashed in a bit and damaged. One final note: as I write this, Amazon's picture is beige. My cable was actually black. It didn't matter for me, but if that's important to you, keep that in mind. All in all, I've had no problems with this cable so far (after getting the damaged one replaced, of course), so I'd recommend if if you have a specific need for a 6-inch USB extension cable. There are certainly longer ones if you need those (be aware of maximum length restrictions, though: about 10-16 ft from device to port unless you use active repeaters or hubs), but this one works fine for what it is.

Great so far...
I bought this little extension cord for a Medialink Bluetooth dongle so I wouldn't have to pull the tiny little thing out every time I put my laptop in its bag - it's much easier to just leave the Bluetooth attached to this cable and yank the cable out instead. It works just perfectly for this purpose; however, as others have noted, the cable I received was not like the one pictured (the pictures with the completely sheathed female end). I don't see it as too big of a deal, but the picture really should be updated so people will know exactly what they're getting. So far the product works perfectly - both the male and female ends have a good tight fit; but if I run into a problem down the road I'll update this review.

Make sure this is what you want and need.
Some people seem to get confused by the description of this product, with good reason. It says it is an A-A cable, which is correct, though not precise. The details are that it is a male USB to a female USB connector ("1 x 4-pin Type A Male USB 2.0 - USB, 1 x 4-pin Type A Female USB 2.0").It works for charging and data sync with USB devices like the Flip MinoHD. The MInoHD and similar devices have short arms containing a USB male connector. I don't like o have that kind of weight just hanging off my computer, so I use these short cables instead with a laptop on the table. They work well and the build quality seems fairly high. But the coolest part of ordering these inexpensive items from Amazon is your Amazon Prime subscription which covers the shipping. The annual fee for Prime is well earned when buying small items like this.Jerry

6" cable with a very good use (if you need it).
The reason I like these little cables is so I can attach USB Thumb Drives to desktop computers (usually found under someone's desk) and not worry about a keyboard or something else hitting the USB drive and breaking off the USB connector from the drive. If you connect your thumb drive to other people's computers (school, friends, etc) then this provides some extra protection.Good luck recovering your files from a drive with the USB connector broken off.If your 6" cable gets damaged you can replace it without needing to recover any data.I don't know of any other good uses for a cable this short, but that's enough for me.Fun Fact:About half the length of this 6" cable are the two USB connectors, the other half is the cable itself.

Inexpensive, very well-made & incredibly useful!
I bought this short extender to use with my Raspberry Pi 3. It can also be used with a computer or Smart TV. Note that this is a USB 2.0 model. It you have a USB 3.0 port, and you need the faster throughput of USB 3.0, you should get a different model. Why did I get this? Manufacturers often place USB ports too close together, so that you can't use neighboring ports. This short extension solves that. However, this can also be used if you frequently plug and unplug things into a port, to keep the computer / Smart TV port in good condition. Although I bought this for my Raspberry Pi (with close ports), I'm actually using it now with my Smart TV (where I often swap out USB sticks or hard disks). The cable is short and very well-made. I'll probably buy a few more with my next Amazon order. They are very handy!

clueless
This is the first item i have bought from Amazon. I am a very senior user of the pc so when somebody said you need usb thingys to put in the side of the pc and sewing machine . I was told to leave them attached to both machines so as to limit wear and tear also told I would get the best price and service from Amazon. I found it easy to order and you were very prompt with delivery to say you had to send to Australia. I must say I do find them very usefull, and when somebody tells me which they surely will I need something else I will look at Amazon first, because you were the cheapest and to tell the truth that was why you were my first choice.I also liked the strong box you packed them in.Margaret.
