Soft, not prickly, splays good, and has a good backbone. Began wet shaving two years ago. First brush was an inexpensive brush, about what this one cost. Used this brush in todays shave. Excellent material

If you want a swanky shaving brush with a hand carved unicorn horn handle and heritage single origin badger fur, this is not the one. Of course this one is a few hundred dollars cheaper than those and works just as well.Seriously, this is a basic shaving brush that works perfectly. There's nothing special about it other than it's a great price and works very well.
