These socks are the best for cushioning your feet where it matters. They are thick enough that I buy my running shoes a half size larger so the fit is comfortable. Well worth the price.

Keeps my feet comfortable during tennis matches. I have large feet, and the extra large size fit perfectly.

Superb material, construction, and padding. They’re a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. I’ll be ordering more in the near future.

The Thorlo XJ Max running crew is a great sock in my opinion. The are not too tight, I have wide feet and wide ankles so most socks tend to be too tight and small for me. These seem to have just the right amount of stretch and softness. The cushion is very useful too, if you're a runner you'll appreciate the extra cushion inside your running shoe. You may also like wearing them around the house to keep your feet warm. I'm in cold and damp Connecticut and house floors are quite cold but these Thorlo XY Max Running Crews are like wearing slipper socks. They're comfortable, cushiony and durable. Yes durable, they seem to last me years of use before they lose their cushion and get holes. Good Stuff!

(Wanted to interject with this, as you see the size right above here:I spent decades buying one size fits all and have always a been 13 plus, as an adult.The absolute vast majority of socks that are 10-13 ALWAYS end up barely being a size 10 sock after the first wash.I don't think this is going to happen here, and when it doesn't, I'm buying another pair.)Pleasantly surprised with the comfort and build of these.Although I expect this for the price.Giving this brand its first chance.I'll follow up. Right now I'm tempted to go 5 stars.Super comfy.(Hours later: I wish that I had spent this kind of money years ago. I have some cheap Dexter shoes, but they have a gel heel and are remarkably comfortable. I wear them to work every day. I put these Thorlos on after I received them at my office, intentionally because they're going into my gym bag, and I wore them instead of my regular thin dress socks until I got home. Just walking out to the garage at my office I got a little attitude with myself as my feet have NEVER felt this comfortable before. I honestly didn't know that they could.It was really noticeable with these socks on, albeit not bad before. Next step here is seeing how well they handle relatively minimal use, and how they stand up to washing and drying. I want to add that they are actually shaped like your still foot/ankle/lower leg. That also told me that that padding might be a little bit heavier too. They came out of the bag looking good, and I have a sense that these might end up with 5 stars and another purchase. Aren't these the ones that are made solely in North Carolina? I will GLADLY pay more for MADE IN THE USA, and especially if the quality is noticeable. I hate to jinx it, but we might be on to something here folks!)

I have a dozen pairs of these socks, which have been my go-to athletic socks for 4 or 5 years. Perfect fit, extremely comfortable, so nicely padded I often wear them around the house without shoes, as slippers. My other new favorite is Bombas, but their design is very different, and I am keeping these Thorlos in the mix.I have always bought them sold and shipped from Amazon, and I wonder whether some or all of the one- or two-star rveiews result from people receiving inferior goods from other sellers or simply defective items, for which Amazon would refund the price without question. Oh well.
