Much larger than I thought it would be. It fits on his cage perfectly inside and outside. Best of all my little Hahn's Macaw loves it!! Very well made and balanced. You would think it's part of his cage!

I have a cockatiel named Leo. He lives in and "ON" a rather large cage. The cage is arranged with these wire Patio Decks that give him great spaces to use. One deck is set up as a Dining Area, another is set up as a Play Area, and there are two more outside, one that acts as an actual Patio, and one that acts as a bridge to his smaller Daytime Play Cage. Yes, this is a very spoiled Cockatiel. The wire is perfect for cockatiels and is really easy to move around and clean. He really prefers to stand on the wire than any of his multiple sizes of perches. Leo and I are really thankful for these decks because the provide so much space for enrichment in his life.

I would prefer thicker bars so Birdy has something to stand on, but, it's good to have the extra real estate. I might put a wood board over this or something.

I use these shelves in my bird cage. Gives options to change up their living configuration. The bars are a bit too wide so I wrap a paper towel around and that also makes for easy cleaning.

I bought this for an elderly African Grey with arthritis. Although she perches during the day, she had taken to sleeping on the cage floor at night, probably not trusting her feet to keep their grip while she sleeps. I installed this shelf just high enough off the ground so she can feel like she’s perching, but she has the security of a big, stable surface. I used cable ties to attach it more firmly, so it doesn’t move as she climbs on and off. She has slept on it from the first night. The bars are very smooth and nice. It has been a good solution for us.

I have it hooked on the bars of the cage, but it always sits at a slight angle. That makes it hard to keep the water bowl on it.

I am writing this review just two days after purchasing this. And as you will see in my photos, my African Grey absolutely loves it. I've had her for 20 years, and never thought about buying something like this. Her cage is huge and she has plenty of play area. However when I saw this, I figured why not try it. And as soon as I connected it yesterday, she sits on this all day long. As you will see in the photos, it's now her new preferred place to tear toys apart, sing and even relax. At night though when it's time to sleep, she goes into her cage on her own and sleeps on the perch which is what I prefer. I am now purchasing another one of these for the opposite side of the cage, and going to find a tiny water dish to add next to it. This way she has access to water while she's hanging out. Now keep in mind the spaces between the wiring. Nothing is sharp. However this play area would not be suitable for a tiny bird. However, there are different sizes and variations online to fit all different size birds.
