Enough capacity for more than coffee.
This is a handy little bugger with a capacity for more than just coffee. Can be awkward to clean the blades but that is true most grinders. Great for curry pastes and most spice blends even with wet ingredients like garlic and ginger.

Good and strong.
After having to throw away a well known brand grinder, I took a punt on this one, partly as it got good reviews on an independent site.First of all, it is not a grinder, it does not grind. Very few of the cheaper ones are grinders, they chop. However, having used this one just the once so far, it does to the job very well. It is solidly built, and feels good quality with a strong motor. The stainless steel bowl can be removed. If I had a minor criticism, it’s the included instructions are rather brief, although it is a simple machine to operate.

Highly recommended for grinding whole spices for indian curry powders and Garam Masala.
I bought this on 13 Jun 2022 specifically to grind whole spices for curry powders.it has a thin flat edged blade which is fairly close to the bottom of the bowl which is exactly what you need for grinding spices.(You do not want a grinder that has sharp edged blades for grinding had things like whole spices). This Duronic grinder is one of the best grinders I have had so far. (And over the past 30 years I have tried quite a few)It has a 250W motor which makes all the difference in getting a finely ground spice mix,Initially you need to fill the grinding bowl from about about 1/3 to 1/2 full of whole spices and do the first grind for about 1 minute or so.If the initial grind increases the volume of the spices to more than half the grinding bowl volume I will tip some of the coarsely ground mix out into a container, and continue with grinding with enough spice mix to fill abut 1/3 of the Duronic grinder bowl, (and grind the rest afterward you have done the first half). After the initial grind, you should stir the spices to release the finely ground spices from the bottom of the bowl. And then grind again in 30 second bursts and stir and repeat several times to get a finely ground blend, which will be eventually be almost as finely ground as a commercial curry powder. With any make of electric grinder it slows down too much if the spice blend is getting quite fine and is is much more than 1/3 to 1/2 full.It is also good for slightly wet grinds to make garlic and ginger paste as well. I add a little oil and water to grind coarsely fresh garlic and ginger too.It is pretty good at grinding nuts as well, but you should only fill the bowl to 1/4 full for nuts.it does not work that well for very oily nuts such as walnuts. They tend to have some big lumps left, and the rest becomes almost like a thick paste which strains the motor.I did put the bowl in the dishwasher about 18 months ago, and it caused the black plastic base of the grinding bowl to have fine cracks in it, and eventually, today on 14-jan-2024 part of the plastic base of the grinding bowl broke off. There was no need to put it in a dishwasher either because it is very easy to clean the removable bowl with a brush under the hot tap with a little washing up liquidBut the electric grinding base with the motor is still going strong after nearly 2 years.I was going to buy the same Duronic model again today, but I saw a different brand of grinder which looks very similar, but the other has a 300W motor, so I am going to give that one a try.But regardless of that, this Duronic Coffee Grinder Electric Blade CG250 | Grinding Mill is a really good grinder and I am happy to recommend it to people who want to make curry powders from whole spices. Some advice for people who want to grind curry powder, and nuts etc, is don't ever bother with the models that are only 150W to 200W as they are not quite powerful enough to do the job.

Gave Up the Ghost & Loads of Aggro! AVOID!
Right, listen up. Bought this Duronic CG250 malarkey back in April 2024 – thinking "stainless steel, should last a bit". Did the job alright for me morning beans at first, bit noisy but ground 'em. Fast forward barely over a year? Stone cold dead. Just packed up mid-grind. Click, whirr, CLUNK... silence. Kaput. Less than 15 months for twenty quid? Pathetic. Utterly not fit for purpose if it conks out that quick. But the aggro started sooner! First off, that horrendous plastic sticker plastered all over it – took me ages scraping with nail polish remover just to make it look decent in me kitchen. Like others said, no proper manual in the box either! Just a flimsy multilingual leaflet bleating about the "environment" while using plastic stickers and bags. Taking the mickey, that is.And don't get me started on the blooming motor! Saw others mention it smoking like a chimney or needing a 30-minute "tea break" after grinding a bit of coriander? Makes sense now – feels cheap as chips inside. Mine didn't smoke, but no surprise it's dead already. Absolute lemon of a motor.Grind quality? Meh. It's passable for spices or nuts, I'll give it that. But coffee? Forget a proper fine grind like they advertise. Bits get stuck, needs constant shaking. Not what I paid for.

Best grinder in its price range
I have had this for a few months now and absolutely no complaints. Easy to use and clean. I cook a lot so having 2 blades and pots really useful. Easy to control chop size by length of time you push the lid down. Better than any similarly priced ones I have tried.
