Small with a strong hold.
Holds a piece of lexan I use as a hail shield for my sunroof on my storm chase vehicle. I have 5 of them on it, and it will hold up to 120mph. It blew off going 80 down I10 in southwest Texas into a 40mph headwind. I don't know many people that would use them like that, but that's quite a bit of force to get it off. They'll pinch the crap out of your fingers if you get in between two of them, and good luck separating them if they get together. Very strong.Update: After having this on the hail shield for in excess of 20,000 miles storm chasing this season, I think I'm going to have to get some just a bit larger. I still stand by my original review, but there were several other instances where it blew off. I know this is an unconventional "test" of these, and they are likely suitable for all sorts of tasks.

Awesome magnets !
These magnets are awesome , I love rare earth magnets !I ordered this along with two of the 70 pound pull rate earth magnets. I was playing with them and this and one of the 70 pound magnets stuck together. I had a heck of a time getting them apart and I'm a strong guy.I put the end of a piece of 550 paracord through the mounting hole on this magnet , tied a figure 8 knot to secure it to the paracord and plan to keep this in my tool bag for work.I can use this to retrieve dropped (lost in the grass) screws , keys or tools dropped down a storm drain or to stick screws or bolts to when I'm working on my truck. It's a lot smaller than carrying a magnetic bowl and more versital...If my review was helpful to you , please take the time to check the "helpful" box below.Thank you !

Very strong magnet (too strong?)
Very strong - a bit too strong - you should make sure you really need this large a magnet! Its size is an inch-and-a-quarter, which is around the distance of an average adult thumb's knuckle-to-tip, so if you want to use it for a jewel-box or something, it might an overkill. And god forbid you place two together!I use it a bit innovatively - I screwed a magnet on the wall (more precisely, on the baseboard) so as to grab the door-stopper for all my doors. The magnet is strong enough to hold the door open when the stopper hits it, and yet yields easily when you pull the door away to close it.The build is pretty good - I did not break any; each magnet comes with a steel cup and a screw that work as expected.Btw, the magnet attracts from only one face, so somewhat easier to manipulate.

I was a little disappointed, I was expecting two magnets but only got one, I was going by the image that it showed 2 magnets, after I got my order I went back to check my order again and read it more closely and sure enough it said 1 magnet, but it's worst it, it's a great magnet and it very strong, Be very careful with these magnets and respect their power and keep them away from children, they could hurt you if you are not carful.I use them to hang my tape measure and other tools and to find wall studs, They also have many other uses.Keep them away from electronic devises and tv screens and memory stickes, I am not sure but it might erase them.

Not sure about 112 pounds, but they are very strong magnets
These are hard to pull off the metal if you are pulling absolutely straight down (or if you are just trying to hold onto the little screw with no leverage). However, they click right off without any trouble if you screw something onto them and pull sideways just a bit. They didn't work for their intended purpose, but I found other uses for them and I ordered more. Overall, a good product.

Very Very Very strong.
These are so strong. I stuck one to the door of my van and had to use chanel locks to get it off. I use them to hold a fan in my van and if the weight was distributed right one would hold it but I use four to make sure. It holds strong... almost to strong it is hard to pull down and has scratched the s@#! out of the ceiling but it does what I want. If you need a strong magnet these are them. But if your needing to take them on and off they may be a little too strong.

STRONG MAGNET!
Very strong and perfect for its intended use!!Unfortunately, I purchased this for a ferrofluid science experiment with my boys. Due to the hole in the center, (I believe) the magnetic field doesn't flow in a manner which produces typical results from the ferrofluid. While it did attract the fluid, there were no spikes.

They aren't kidding around with these.
One will easily hold a fully loaded .45 1911 under a table. Securely. Hell it would probably hold a 16# sledge under a table. They come with extra screws and optional ferrous cover plates. Which I did not use for this project. And yes, they are kind of scary. With 112# surface break, they will pinch the hell out of you if you let them.
