Complete Weather Station for Less than the Cost of a Sensor
The battery contacts on the TX141-BV2 sensor on our weather station rusted out. Found this complete weather station that includes a TX141-BV3 sensor for less than the cost of a sensor alone. La Crosse customer support verified that the BV2 and BV3 sensors are interchangeable, so I ordered this and now have a spare weather station plus the replacement sensor I needed. Happy with the performance and price of this product.

Very useful wireless remote
I have tried various wireless thermometers before and this is first one I have found that actually works at a distance. I set this up yesterday and found comments here helpful to put batteries in the transmitter first and the monitor next. I plan to use these both at my house and in my car to monitor temperatures when have my dogs with me in warm or cool weather. Does not have alarm but easy and small enough to take with me in to restaurants etc. Do not like leaving AC on for fear that might stop and then windows all rolled up. Better lower windows and monitoring. Dogs love to go so nice to monitor. Always careful with them but this will be a good device to use with them. Pleased to see that I have this set up 100 feet from monitor and reads through two wood walls, one brick wall and one metal garage door. Have not tested at restaurants or longer range but will shortly and if find any problems will come back and update. So far very pleased.

3 years and done
Worked ok for 3 years, now no outdoor readings after bsttery replacement in the outdoor sensor. The temp sensor was sheltered from rain, so no excuse for it's failure other then bad components. I won't buy another.Update...after numerous attempts to get the outdoor sensor communicating with the display, I gave up but left them close together for the night. This morning the outdoor temp is being read and displayed. Upped to 4 stars but it should not have been that hard to get them communicating.

Just needed the transmitter, but buying whole kit was cheaper!
I ended up ordering this because the transmitter on my old weather station had stopped working. I hunted all over for a replacement for that piece, only to find that buying an entirely new station that comes with the transmitter was cheaper than trying to replace the dead part! Definitely a flaw in the whole LaCrosse business model, but the new one works fine. I still have the old one as well, and both stations stay connected to the new transmitter.

Basic wireless temperature gauge that is easy to setup.
The receiver on my old one (different model same brand) finally went after having it for probably over 10 years and even before it completely went the base would not always get the temperature it would come and go (to be fair the receiver did take a fall to the ground on concrete because the strong tape I used came loose) even though the base still worked. This new one is better than the old one because the base is smaller (more places you can put it) and so much easier to setup in regards to the time (buttons on front rather than the back) and no longer requires the date and year since this one does not include the date at all. The worst part to me about having a wireless temperature gauge is every time you have to replace the batteries in the transmitter you have set up the time etc on the base. My old one was so annoying in that regard that I just covered over the time with tape so I wouldn't have to set it up when the batteries went. Not sure how long it will last as far as receiving the temperature from the transmitter; but I have placed the receiver where it will not get rained on and in addition covered it with a plastic bag for added protection. Only time will tell if it will last as long as my last one and will be interesting to see. This one has everything I need and nothing I don't (date for example) so if you are looking for a basic temperature gauge that is easy to setup I would recommend this one.

great product
so far it is everything I wanted. Very accurate

Not bad, but accuracy is questionable.
Not sure about the accuracy of the outdoor thermometer - seems to read too warm on days with light winds, even though I've installed it in a shaded area. Also, buyers beware... if you buy more than one of these like I did, the second outdoor sensor will be useless. I have a sloping back yard and I wanted to know how much colder it is in the lower part of my yard on cold winter nights. But all of these operate on the same frequency, so if you have more than one, the receiver will only read the outdoor sensor that is closer to it.

Cheap way to get extra sensors for weather station, plus bonus displays!
I like how clear and easy to read the display is, and it is simple and uncluttered unlike the main La Crosse weather station I have is, but that serves a different purpose. This unit uses the same sensors as my weather station, and costs less than the auxiliary sensors available to buy individually for the weather station, so this was a no-brainer. Nice to have a couple of extra displays around the house that show the temperature where my auxiliary sensors are placed, and for $5 less to boot!My weather station picked up the signal from the sensors that came with these thermometers instantly, so I couldn't be happier with that part. I really can't conceive why the sensors alone can't be had for less than the price of this thermometer set, but for what I paid for these thermometers I certainly can't complain.
