Great cat door with a few caveats
Works great!! I just kept it taped open for several days, and pushed my cat in and out of it. Then I closed it. When she wanted out, I would push her through the closed flap. Then I pushed her back through with the magnet on her collar so she could see how to work it. Now, no problemo. However, one caveat, I had to take the unit apart and fix the tension on the spring with the magnet in the door latching mechanism because it was too much tension. Also, there is some type of detachable frame around the door itself - on the inside flap - that I took off, as it was making it difficult for my cat to enter. Did not affect the use of it in any way. Perhaps it's for cold weather. I live in Hawaii, so no probs

Needs improvement
The coons and even cats were pushing straight through the door and latch mechanism. At times the door would come off the hinges and just lay on the floor. I put 2 screws holding the frame more in place and that fixed it. No more crazy critters and spraying in the house:)

PetSafe Staywell Deluxe Magnetic Cat Flap with Selective Entry & 4 way lock
This is pretty good. It's very easy to install even for someone without much experience with these things, like me. We decided to use this to try to make one of our cats have a personal litterbox. He has learned and mastered the door already very easily with a treat reward. He enters and exits like a pro. The first time we had it installed it was too low and he didn't like it, so we fixed that. It's very easy to uninstall as well and reinstall elsewhere. Would definitely purchase this again when we can move and install this in a door for the indoor/outdoor cat. The magnetic is very small and sturdy. The cat (whose name is Nibbler if that doesn't provide any hints) chews the heck out of this magnet. Not great for his teeth, and has left quite a bit of teethmarks in the magnet, but it has held up. We've had to play with how it hangs on his collar frequently to get it to where it isn't so much trouble for him or easy for him to take the collar off. But the bottom line is that magnet is STURDY. The door is amazing and Nibbler is excited to go in and out for his treats. The other cats have tried to enter this and and haven't had any success thanks to how we set the lock. The only downside I would say is the included collar. I don't think it was breakaway. It was very elastic which was great when we used it temporarily for our other chonky cat with no collar or behavior problems. We did buy some extra spare magnets and settled for a breakaway, as Nibbler as some collar hangups too after getting one caught in his mouth before. We haven't had trouble with a single magnet being lost though. Just know your cat so you know what's best in the terms of the collar for your cat.

Pretty Cool
I bought this to allow my cat to come in and out at his pleasure while keeping his toy outside, the other cat I bought for him to play with. I had to have one area that could still just be for Taz without out it being invaded or taken over by his toy Naughtyboy. It makes him feel special knowing he has a key that only allows him into our room. It drives his Naughtyboy nuts. Great product ! The red turn lock should be slighly bigger and also put on both sides to give extra strength and support. A very determined cat could probably get in id determined enough. Also, depending upon the depth of the door, some sort of cover/ing should be thought about. I ended up using quite a bonch of caulk on one side to cause the looks to conform correctly. Anyhow, overall, an awesome product !! Great Job !!

Update, didn't make it 2 years: NOT Better than nothing.
09 2023 update: This didn't make it two years. The magnet is completely useless and no longer locks or unlocks the door. The stupid collar magnets are expensive and hard to replace, surprise cats loose their collars! For the price one would expect this to last more than 18 months with 3 cats.I switched to a limited entry cat door because the local strays (and other wildlife) were breaking into my house. I shose this one for cost and size of item on the collar. The door is tiny, my largest cat can barely fit. The magnet must be inside the tunnel for the door to unlock making it a hard for kitties who like to open to door with a paw instead of their head. The worst part is they pick up all things metal on their collars, we have had old nails, kitchen tongs, bits of metal picked up who knows where, I am looking into a better upgrade that won't get rusty nails stuck in my cat door or on my pets collars where they or I, could be injured by them.Overall, it works but it's not very safe.

works well but needs annual replacement
The concept and the way this door works is really good, however the construction is less than satisfactory. We live in a place with a lot of neighborhood cats and other wild animals and the door works to keep them out, while letting our car through. The down side is that these doors only last about a year. The plastic has no UV resistance and becomes extremely brittle and falls apart after about a year. I would pay a lot more for a door that functions as well as this one does when new that would last 10 or 20 years...

Works as advertised, keeps the wild things out
A stray cat started coming in our house to eat the cat food resulting in late night squirmishes with my cats and huge messes on the floor. Since my old cat door was the same brand, installation was a snap, remove 4 screws and put the new one in. It took four months for my cats to master the new door and for a while they kept picking up odd nails and other bits of iron on the magnets from around the yard. The mechanism that is activated by the magnet is loud and scary for the cats and that is why it took so long. I persevered and finally picked them up and manually pushed them through the door several times a day and they eventually got used to it.

So loud! Works as expected
This door works as perfectly as described BUT it’s the loudest pet door I’ve ever had. I’ve had a pet door in every home for the last 30 years and never had one where the thwack of the door frame and magnet catching will wake me from a dead sleep.
