Don’t drop it.
Dropped it once from about 1 meter and the alarm module inside went faulty, from a claimed 120 decibels to pretty much inaudible. Let’s just say you wouldn’t hear the alarm over the sound of a power tool.I will change my review to 5 stars if XENA send me a new alarm module. I refuse to spend another £16 - £18 after already parting with £105 for what is effectively just a disc lock. Apart from that inconvenience, it’s a sturdy and practical lock because it’s easy to carry and has enough weight that it won’t be bashed off your bike and the 14mm hardened pin which should in theory take a few minutes for a professional thief with a good angle grinder to get through. It should not be your only security for your motorbike however if you’re sat at a cafe and can see your bike it’s excellent. Or if you’ve popped into a shop for a few minutes. A working alarm would be appreciated as it would alert you if you are close by and act as a deterrent in a public space.
