Use big eyed needle. Excellent stretch if double strand.

Handy invention
I thought someone should sell elastic thread, though I’ve never seen it anywhere, so I looked on Amazon and there it was. The spool is little, but there's enough thread for multiple small adjustments made with hand stitching. I used it on polyester/spandex bands of fabric that were too big and loose for what I wanted them for. The thread didn't look sturdy so after threading it into a big-eyed needle, I doubled the strand and knotted the two loose ends. It's not as slick as regular thread so it was more difficult to pull through the fabric. Also sometimes it knotted up on its own as I was pulling on it. It hasn't broken so far but I don't know how well it will hold up. I'm glad someone manufactured it and l'm glad Amazon sells it. It's just nice to know that you can imagine inventions you'd like to have and sometimes find them on Amazon. (:
