I put some in my little fish pond. i guessed at the amount. it turned the water black. is this normal? did i use too much?

You most likely used too much, I would do a partial water change. This product is meant for ponds up to 1/4 Acre.

Could this diluted and used in a water trough?

It's safe for animals, but in a trough I'd definitely follow directions per the quantities of water the trough holds. I poured a whole bottle into my 3/4 acre pond . It really didn't seem to do anything. But I only used it once with Muck Away tablets . Between the two products my pond cleared some but again I haven't had an opportunity to treat my pond a 2nd time. But my horses drink and bathe in the pond all the time and it's never harmed them. For a trough? It may be more advantageous to simple pressure wash it out while using some 30 second cleaner from tractor supply. Hope this helps. Good luck

Do you sell bacteria for cold water below 55 degrees from fall into winter? I have a 1/4 acre pond

We do not recommend using beneficial bacteria when water temperatures are below 50 degrees. The beneficial bacteria in PondClear slow down when temps fall below 50°F. You could try using Pond Dye which is an effective year round treatment.

I have a 2,000 gallon koi and duck pond. Can i use this stuff or is really only meant for larger ponds?

Yes you can use it in your duck and Koi pond. Add dosage in 4 parts, 2-4 hours apart. Watch for change in algae on pond edges, and turbidity. Each dosage should not exceed one quarter of recommended dosage. Watch fish and ducks for any changes. If two doses of one quarter works...quit dosaing. Add it in steps and watch reactions.
