Derale Fluid Cooler, 13.5 x 10.25 x 0.75 in, Tube Type, 6 AN Male Inlet/Outlet, Aluminum/Copper, Black Powder Coat, Universal, Each

As you can tell from my headline, I am using this to cool, and thus dry the air in my 20 gallon air compressor before it gets to the holding tank. When air is heated (275 degrees out of a compressor) it condenses water vapor. When the air is compressed (120-135 psi in my tank) the air condenses even MORE water vapor. When the air cools down in the holding tank, it condenses and the water vapor settles to the bottom of the tank. This is why water pours out of the tank when you open the drain valve. But, there is still water vapor in the air, which is why we put water traps and desiccant inline with our air. Keeps the water out of the air tool. Especially important if it's a plasma cutter, paint sprayer, sand blaster, impact wrenches, etc.Using the Derale 13317 after the air compressor, but BEFORE the air goes into the holding tank of the compressor (and putting a water trap right after this Derale 13317) eliminates about 90+ % of the water. The 275 degree hot air is cooled down with the Derale 13317, water vapor condensates and is trapped in the water trap. I don't notice any water in my air tank now. My desiccant beads normally last about 2-3 weeks before turning pink instead of blue. Now, they last MONTHS and MONTHS because little to no moisture is in the air. This would have been a good product. The fitting sizes are not listed here and do not match my needs, so now its sitting in my garage unused.

This thing came severely damaged. Junk. Wasted $$$ I don’t have.

Built well, works well and good price for a cooler with AN fittings.Used this particular cooler for my air compressor pump output.
