Perfect for a quick meal
I usually stock up on our udon at the local Japanese market. I don't typically trust products online as much as those I see on store shelves; selection tends to be more limited and it's often a different product than I'm really looking for (finding miso I like is pretty hard, for example).I'm happy to say that these are great for dried udon! I can't notice a significant difference between the brand I typically stock and these. They're a little more expensive online, but it saved me a trip to the market. Great staple to keep in the pantry.

DELICIOUS
These noodles cook beautifully, and quickly. They are soft and flavorful, a sensory experience, smooth but not slimy. I cooked them up in chicken broth, added a hard boiled egg split in half, some cooked bean sprouts a handful of chopped green scallions, and the white part of the scallion I cut in slivers and place them on the side. Added a handful of sliced chicken to the broth and I had one fantastic meal. A great breakfast instead of the usual oatmeal, filling and healthy. I had no problems with packaging at all, double or single size. Enjoy!

Oodles of noodles!
I received my Udon today. Unfortunately one of the bags was torn, so some of the udon pieces escaped, luckily it was double bagged so it caught most of it. My only concern is the freshness factor and what not. I'll cook these up and update my review if need be. I was expecting the noodles to be thicker but to my surprise they were only slightly thicker than the soba noodles.

Don't overcook, rinse with well with hands and cold water, then reheat in mw about 40 seconds
The price is excellent. The consistency of the product. It's a springy noodle which is good for udon.Cook for full12 minutes and no longer. Quickly get to rinsing in cold water, squeezing and massaging the noodles to get the excess sticky starch off of it. The noodles will be cold. Microwave a single serving about 40 seconds then add to soup base.

Not terrible, not great
If you're not that picky then these are OK but they're not like restaurant Udon. These are only about 8" long and are not square so they don't have the mouth feel and texture of restaurant Udon. These are rectangular kinda like an extra thick fettuccine. This all impacts flavor IMO. If you do buy these I'd suggest reducing the cooking time to 9 to 10 minutes which is less than the recommended 12 minutes. Reduced cook time results in a more firm, al dente mouth feel. When these are gone I'm going to try something else.

Udon Noodles
Dried udon is much tastier than frozen udon, and I like it. I will buy again.
