BEST HYDRATION RESERVOIR OUT THERE
Awesome bladder. I already have one of these so i know what i can say about it. Stays relatively flat even when full, awesome all the way around. OSPREY doesnt fool around!!!Great quality on the slide top and all components. Nothing feels chinsey, even though the bag itself is kinda thin, the material is strong.Recommend freezing with lemon juice and lemons in water 2/3 full before use though. Lots of plastic/rubber taste when you first get it. To be expected from all new water bladders.Bite valve is excellent and the magnetic clip is my favorite feature.Excellent option if you wanna scoop your water straight from a stream, with the slide top mouth and hard lips it is easy peasy. The fact that the tube splits with a quick connect, filtering is a breeze if you have a clip in filter. Filling this thing with a gravity system would be just as hassle free.If you dont need the rigid back panel the LT model is the way to go, it is the lightest of the hydraulics line and will last you a very long time. All around the best choice when it comes to water bladders, i think. Be sure to get a cleaning kit though. Cleaning the drink tube could keep you from getting unnecessarily sick.

7 days in Yosemite backpacking - great!!!
It’s my 2nd bag (I couldn’t find the first one which I got about 3-4 years ago and used extensively, so bought another one). Both bags were/are great! No leaking, no ruptures - served great during my Yosemite backpacking trip!Regarding water taste - you may feel a little plasticky taste at the beginning, but the longer you use it, the less it’s present. The former I would say was already without any aftertaste. I also had CamelBak and I think the Osprey has less problem with the taste…Wait for the right price, which should be about $38 or less…Black Friday price was $34.50 and Jul08 2025 so far the lowest price I have seen $26.08 (Prime Day)

woke up dreaming
REALLY! About 4 days ago I woke up thinking there has to be a better water bladder design. Every time I fill up my Humpback (you know the one) bladder it swells up as big as my leg and takes up half the pack. I thought to myself, what we need is a bladder with an internal panel that makes it keep it's shape. I thought to myself of the $$$millions that I would make and how adoring fans would stand in line just to thank me. Then I looked on Amazon.RATS! Right there before me was this Osprey 2.5L bladder designed just for me. It does not hurt that I also have an Osprey pack. Seriously, this may be the absolute best design that I have seen. The V that you see is two "welded" in panels that keep the bladder from ballooning into a sausage. When fully filled it is about 2" thick and should easily fit any pack designed to carry a bladder. The hose can be easily routed left or right as required by your pack. It also has a quick disconnect inside the bag that allows the bag to be removed with out having to reroute the exterior part of the hose. The magnetic clip to keep the mouth piece in place for easy access is simple genius.I could go on about how easy it is to fill etc etc etc but instead I will say that if I had build my own bladder it is pretty certain that it would look and work a whole lot like this one does. Of course, I will miss my adoring fans but at least I did get a great bladder and did not have to make it myself. Absolutely recommend this.

Solid Hiking water bladder
I have 3 of these bladders for my children and all 3 of them held up well for our hiking needs during our recent vacation. Very pleased with these bladders.

Good reservoir, but one major design flaw
I want to really like this reservoir. It's got good capacity and fits well in my Osprey Talon backpack. And it's made by Hydrapak, which has a good reputation for innovation. I do have two Hydrapak reservoirs that I bought from another retailer, and I prefer them. Here's why. These reservoirs have a great top design that allows you to open them up completely and turn them inside out to clean and dry. Key. BUT this Osprey model doesn't have a quick detach hose coupling at the base of the reservoir! So you when you want to turn the thing inside out, the hose gets in the way. The Hydrapak models, in contrast, have the hose coupling right at the base of the reservoir - so no hose in the way when you want to clean. I can't imagine why Osprey designed it the way they did.

Does great, capacity is good and haven't had any leaking
Works great. I wasn't sure about the type of closure - I'm unfamiliar with it and have heard many reports of leaking, however I haven't had any issues. I did buy a cap for it which isn't the best but I prefer not having it get drug around in the mud. First drink every time (and it was drained and dry before use) always tastes a little funky. Then I don't know if it doesn't taste anymore or if I'm used to it, but I haven't really noticed any other weird tastes after that. Capacity is also perfect.

Great for desert hiking or biking.
The 2.5 liter bags were perfect for a weekend backpacking trek in Joshua Tree. We still had to carry more water, but the 2.5 liter bags were a perfect fit in or Osprey Exos packs. The durability, seems good, decent thickness. We didn't experience any leaking from any part of the bags, or hoses. Easy to drop into our packs. We would definitely buy again, it's a good value for the money.
