KISS Principle properly applied!
This item is genius, great simple solution to a perplexing problem (thanks to #sonic who took a pic and put in review of it looped through the skimmer!) – it has the perfect amount of bungee tension and the ankle straps are comfortable for up to an hour (my workout time). The only improvement recommendation I could make would be to allow for easy length adjustments. I needed it about 6’ shorter due to the shape of my pool. I tried many knot combinations, the bungees are too slippery and the knots came out after mere minutes. Came up with the solution of an overhand knot with a zip tie at either end of the not to keep it from slipping. Seemed to the trick for a month now.

Lap Swimming with a Lap Pool
I enjoy swimming, and this includes swimming for exercise. But not having a pool large enough for decent laps, or wanting to take time to go to a gym and hope you get a lane, my options were limited. As a result my swim time was at a bare minimum. Needing to train for the 1/2 IMs I like to do, I needed an solution and this simple setup has done the trick. All you need is a good base to loop the elastic rope around, and you are off and "swimming". Not having a solid fence or other close to my backyard pool, I use a weighted umbrella stand to loop the rope over. Then, simply velcro the straps on my ankles and I'm good to go. Now, I do not kick as I normally would, but to get a good swim workout, it is a great alternative. The strap might wear out, but it will easily be replaced. With lap swims costing $5-10 per visit, or $40/mth for a gym membership, I can replace this every 6mths and still be way ahead cost wise. Plus being able to swim in the comfort of my own backyard.. Priceless!!Well worth the money. Comfortable and way easy to use. Highly recommended!

Much easier than the waist version for me.
I have listened to both sides: waist belt v. ankle belts and I have a verdict.Ankle belt is the winner. Home or hotel use is going to be much easier since you do not need such a high tie off point. I realize the "pro" like the waist and that may be true if you have large pole or overhead or are tying to lane lines. Well the issue is a pool that does not have lane lines so that is not really a fair comparison. You can tie this type to to anything and then use a chair under the cord to get it off the pool deck. I did add about 8 feet of line to use as a tie off loop and then hook into that but once in the water, it took very little time to adapt.

Perfect for recreational training
I’m training for 300m swim and this is perfect for me to practice in my pool. I looped it through the side of my pool skimmer. It does impair my leg motions a bit, but it’s great for me to practice continuous breathing and upper body. Come sprint triathlon day I’ll have my full legs to boost me

Way better than expected
I’ve now used this 5 to 6 times in my 23 foot pool. Works really good for freestyle with or without a float between legs. And even better for crawl stroke. For the price it’s high-quality and I’ve gotten my money out of it. Five times over.

Helpful in the Pool
The product arrived very quickly and in great condition. I use the product in my 27' above ground pool fastened to the deck railing. The ankle fasteners attach to my ankles with a single velcro faster. Easy on and easy off. The unit attaches easily to the deck rail as well. So far, the unit works really well.

Hated it on my ankles, so used it on my wrists, then as a belt
I was considering getting an expensive swim jet for my pool, since it is too small to do any kind of lap swimming. Then I tried this. Wow! I was surprised at the exercise I got using this. Really got the heartbeat going. However, I got scared using it on my ankles. I swim alone and the thought of getting my legs tangled was terrifying. I tried it on my wrists instead and that worked well, but the tether wasn't really long enough. Then I came up with idea of velcro-ing the two ankle bands together and putting them on/around my chest. Voila! Worked great. Best exercise I have had in ages. Tether is perfect length (I attach it to the handrail in my pool). And better than a swim jet, I can adjust my stroke and speed without having to match and adjust the jet. Thanks to this product, I just saved myself several thousand dollars by avoiding buying the swim jet.

Disappointed
i bought these and a waist tether. Love the waist one much better. These pull too much so they pull you off balance and that isnt good when to swim properly form is crucial. I also dont like how the ankle strap rubs against me. It is very uncomfortable. With the waist tether I can swim for an hour or longer and don't even know it's there. Not the same with this. Would not recommend
