As with most kitchen gadgets, this was manufactured in China. The Tiger Chef and Weston version also come from the same manufacturer.

Q: Is the slicer durable for everyday restaurant use?

As far as making fries, yes. However, some types of potatoes cut smoother and faster than others. Since the juice from potatoes changes color with time, I do suggest that in a restaurant kitchen, rinsing often will be necessary.
