Where is my long lost Salsa? (It is found)
Update to 5 stars. I received it. Thank you La Costena! O Muchos Gracias. I will leave my previous rant so all shall know that if at first they don’t succeed, they should in fact try again.(Old)-What makes a man purchase 24 cans of La Costena Green Salsa on Amazon? My first taste of La Costena Green Salsa Tomatillo sauce was approximately a month ago. I had wandered into my local Walmart looking for some Salsa Verde, with mild to medium spice levels, that resembled the homemade concoction procured by my girlfriend’s favorite Empanada Restaurant in Queens NY. The first time I tried La Costena, I was floored. It was quite possibly the best Salsa Verde I had ever tasted from a grocery store. Unfortunately, I had taken it for granted and only procured the one bottle having been unaware at the time of purchase the the joy it would bring to my life. After speeding through the bottle in a week, I returned to the Walmart, but alas I was unable to locate it. I consulted Google and was unable to locate a store in my vicinity that kept the elusive salsa in stock. After two weeks of pestering Walmart employees, I beseeched Amazon to fulfil this core need. This brought me to 24 cans of 7.76 ounces of this quality salsa. Approximately 29 dollars later and I was constantly checking my Amazon orders, counting the days until I could present my girlfriend with the perfect store-bought Salsa Verde to accompany our weekend breakfast burritos. Yesterday was the day! I gleefully approached my apt mailbox, barely composed enough to get the key from my pocket. Upon returning to my apartment, box in hand, eager to share my bounty with my lovely Latina girlfriend, I was consumed by an unanticipated fit of rage upon the revalaiton that I had received 24 cans of unwanted La Costena Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce! Had I picked the wrong option in my haste? What had I done? My amazon app quickly revealed that not only had I (correctly) selected the Green Salsa, but the Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce was not even an option from the page where I secured the purchase (Chipotle Salsa and Homestyle Salsa were the other two). Now facing down the prospect of a trip to the post office (An organization notorious for efficiency and considerate store hours) I asked God, “Why do you subject me to such difficult challenges?” Devastated, I navigated to the “returns” AI chatbot, who surprisingly refunded me within moments (which was somewhat suspicious). While commiserating with my girlfriend, she decided to purchase another order, in a valiant attempt to mend my broken heart. However, she was then surprised to be notified after the purchase that the La Costena Store would “be in touch with her when it was to be shipped”, because there currently is a low supply (an alert my shopaholic future wife had never seen before). As she tried to pull me from my depression, she asked me if the salsa was really that amazing? After instructing her to query google, since my heart could not dwell on the topic any longer for fear of stopping all together, she showed me the first response was a reddit article in “r/SalsaSnobs”, where individuals of sophisticated tastes exchange ideas in the same manner of the Enlightenment era salons of old Paris. The response to the question “Best Grocery Store Salsa Verde for Tacos?” Regul4t0rs posted, “We like the La Costena Verde!” (accompanied by three upvotes from other learned scholars). It has been 24 hours and my heart still aches. Please La Costena, tell me how to procure your Salsa Verde? (TLDR: The salsa easily earns five stars, La Costena’s ability to get it to me is awarded no points, and may God have mercy on their souls).(Update Continued) After continuing my search, still unable to locate the coveted green salsa, I looked to Michelle Obama’s friend, the famous painter George W. Bush, for guidance. He is well know for his knowledgeable quotes, such as, "There's an old saying in Tennessee—I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee—that says, 'Fool me once, shame on...shame on you. Fool me—you can't get fooled again.'" Well I was only fooled once, so I had one more chance to be fooled before I couldn’t be fooled again. However, before I could navigate to the Amazon app, the aforementioned beautiful Latina girlfriend (now fiancé), under her own recognizance, decided to surprise me by attempting the purchase. And lo and behold, just one week later I was surprised with my own pallet of salsa. So I’ve updated the review to five stars. Hopefully after I eat all of it (give me approximately a week) I will be able to replicate the success with my severely Caucasian named account.

Yummy!
This is an excellent mild salsa. It is the perfect size for our family of two on taco or nacho night. No waste and good taste !

A Single Serving Dose of Mexican Joy!
Saw this on a shelf in my local grocery store, bought it, and loved it! Now I order this stuff by the case. Love the single serving cans, too. Delicious!

Really good salsa!
This is a great tasting salsa! Local stores stopped carrying it, so I was really happy to find it on Amazon. Several cans were dented, though the cans were in a flat box, tightly covered with plastic, and there were no signs whatsoever of the package being roughed up or dented. I suspect that the cans were dented when they were packed. These are thin cans and it wasn't unusual to find dented cans when I could buy this at the grocery store. I split the case with my brother and his wife, and we split the dented cans too, and will use those first.

Food cans arrived with all DENTED.
I am not pleased with the delivery and would like a refund or exchange. If I need to send all the cans back in a box that is fine for an exchange. Problem: 6 of the cans of Las Costena arrived in the box all deeply dented around he top rim of the can. The cans are now compromised. A broken seal creates an entry point for contamination and can cause food poisoning or worse..

Delicious
I absolutely love this product. The taste is amazing and the perfect size can to cook with. As always I am happy with the quality and the price. However the state of the cans on delivery left a little to be desired. A majority of the cans were dented badly.

Thumbs up
I like the taste of this product and use it for flavor. It doesn't have much heat. I put it in a squeeze bottle and use it on savory sandwiches, meats, and burritos. I will continue to buy

Glad Amazon carries this product after my local grocer stopped stocking it.
This is a prepared chipotle salsa, and it’s a wonderful shortcut when a recipe calls for both chipotles in adobo and a tomato product to make sauce. For easy pork tacos, dice up pork and sauté until dry, add a can of salsa and a can of water, and cook until near dry again. Serve in warm corn tortillas with cilantro, onions, avocado, and queso fresco. Also works well with the canned pork in juices from the USDA food distribution program. Makes for a quick and tasty meal.
