Little Black Rammbook Paperback – 5 Jun. 2011

Despite having done A Level German (plus 3 further years) and therefore being able to get the gist of most Rammstein songs, I still found this book excellent. The deeper meanings and "plays on words" that they use are not obvious, plus an introduction to the background of East German culture gave better insight into the recurring themes. My partner knows no German apart from some Rammstein song titles (if he ever gets in trouble he has to remember Hilf Mir) and I am trying to get him to read the book now. The slight changes required to make the lines span and rhyme are totally acceptable, and this was a task that I could not even contemplate. Well done Jackie White!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have been a massive Rammstein fan for many years and love the music and the guys. It never bothered me what they were really singing about as the music is fantastic and Till's voice so powerful. However curiosity won and I started looking online for translations. I then somehow stumbled upon this book when looking for more Rammstein goodies. Bought it and all I can say is its FANTASTIC! If you love Rammstein but don't understand German get this book!! It will open your eyes to what Till is singing and its written in English so that it can be easily sung along to and makes sense! Please, please translate Till Lindemann's book of poetry!

Bought as a present for a Rammstein fan - there isn't much out there that he hasn't got and is a quality product but this seems to fit a gap in the market. Haven't read it as yet but it will make an unusual Christmas gift.

No regrets, any Rammstein aficionado will love this book, excellent purchase

Essential reading for all non German speaking Rammstein fans. Very well put together small book with translations of some of the World's greatest bands most popular songs, explanations of their meanings and a short history of the group. I speak a little German and this is the singular best translation available, YouTube versions for instance are often so far out its actually funny, this lady knows her stuff and most importantly is an ardent fan of the group herself.Cheap as chips too so this is one of those rare Amazon reviews that deserves 6 stars.Highly recommended for Rammsteinaholics.

The first 70 odd percent of this book is nothing more than an essay on German language - yes introductions are important, but in such a short effort for a credible analysis on Rammstein's work this is one money ripping off effort I could have afforded not to make.... Time you strip it down there are maybe 30 pages worth of 10 tracks translated... Avoid! Avoid!

Its sadly like a personal essay on the german language and personal opinions on what author thinks The Tillmeister may have been thinking at the time of writing.What I was after was a comparative of the german/ english of rammstein lyrics for reference and some useful information on the band.Sadly this is not that.It reads as an academic essay submission. Which is not quite what I was after to sit nicely on my bookshelf with His poetry books in various translations and my own messy attempts to translate songs and the poems in the book Messer to EnglishHaving procured and read this as an ebook I cancelled the order of the physical copy as it isnt really anything special or useful.

I've really enjoyed this little book,it gives an insight to Rammstein 10 song lyrics and translates them for you to English, it's a little deep at the beginning with an intro into the German language ,this book is written by a fan for fans. A must for any Rammstein fan to help them understand the words they are singing,also it's a reasonable price of £4.99
