Possibly the best
I’ve tried a lot of coffee filters. These Merlita #4 are the best-in-class. I have a Cuisinart coffee maker that has a fine mesh filter that for many ground types, lets through too much sediment. And sediment in your cup ruins the cup of coffee.These Merlita’s filter all types of coffee grounds from coarse to super fine, and never leave behind grounds or a paper aftertaste. They are strong and sturdy too, if that matters to you.

In the endless war over the best cup of coffee, I've planted my flag on the cheap drip coffee maker with cone basket. That plus filtered water and whole bean fresh ground is a happy compromise between flavor and cost. I taste a slight difference between white and brown(these) filters and I lean towards these. I don't taste anything 'papery'.
