What type of connection does the charging cable need?

I would say, looking at the picture, just any USB A type charger would do. As others mentioned, since it may not regulate properly if you connect to a fast charger, My best suggestion is to either charge it connecting to your laptop or a battery pack/slow charger to avoid any heating issues.

When i pause audio, every 30 seconds or so, i hear a message saying, “earbuds joined.” is this a defect or normal? very annoying.

I used this for a short time and I did not have that problem. My problem was they always fell off my ears specially the left one and I tried all 3 sizes. Another problem was they do not sound loud.

These are sweat proof. However, one of mine fell out of my ear over the sink. I grabbed it quickly, dried it off, and still use it today. Just let it dry completely before charging

can i swim in these/ or at least take a shower in them?

Hi this aren't for shower, only IP44 Sweat Resistance, you need to look for some model with IP46, 56,or more. I suggest to you to googled for a page when you can see the grade of waterproof you need.
