Bewley's Dublin vs Barry's

They're both fantastic! I've tried all the flavors from both companies over the years and was never disappointed; however, the past few years I buy Barry's IB over Bewley's IB or Dublin Morning because all of Barry's Teas are "Fair Trade". Bewley's only tea that is listed as "Fair Trade" is their Special Blend, which is unfortunate because I really miss their IB and Dublin Morning teas! So, I usually switch off between Barry's IB & Bewley's Special Blend Fair Trade Tea.

Good question since the box is green! But, no, it does have caffeine. It has "select black teas" and comes from Cork, Ireland.

Is this decaf and how does it compare to the blue decaf box?

The green box is not decaf and is great tea ! Don’t know anything about the blue box.

Is the Breakfast Blend stronger than the Gold Blend? I can't remember which I've had, but it was similar to coffee. TIA!

Hi. I have never purchased the Gold blend of Barrys tea. However, I have purchased the Yorkshire Gold and it is much stronger than my regular or breakfast blends. "Gold" blends tend to use better quality and stronger tea leaves in my opinion (and research :). Hope this helps.

Best Tea of Ireland

I love this tea !! No tea on the US market can match the flavor of this Irish breakfast tea. Its grown and picked in Africa and blended in Ireland. What a delicious treat. The aroma is unique and color is red. Would recommend to anyone looking for a unique tea. Just add a little milk and raw honey 10/10

Disclaimer: not a food or tea critic, and I am "new" to tea after cutting back on coffee due to acid reflux.With supply chains disrupted, I am not always able to find a certain green-labeled Irish Breakfast Tea that's common here on grocery shelves in America. Barry's came up on a search on Amazon, so I decided to give an actual Irish brand a try. And how I wish I had done so before!The smell when opening the box is just wonderful, warm, and inviting. The taste, once steeped, is deep and flavorful, and will NOT turn bitter even when leaving the tea bag in the cup. For me, this is one of the best things about Barry's Irish Breakfast Tea. Since the tea bags do not have drawstrings, and I keep my cup on a mug warmer for a long time while I'm working, I end up oversteeping teas quite often. This may seem like a small, easy fix — why not just remove the tea bag, after all — but if I can continue my work without getting up from my desk and still enjoy a fine tea that will never get too bitter, then I'm in love. And as a sufferer of acid reflux, I can personally vouch after a few cups that this tea is not too acidic and is very smooth going down.So if you want a "set it and forget it" tea that won't be too bitter or acidic, yet still has a strong, smooth Assam scent and flavor, consider this tea. I can't recommend it enough. This is my new favorite breakfast tea.P.S.: Also, invest in a mug warmer!

Poor packaging. Product needs more protection

The tea is wonderful. The packaging is inadequate. The box was flattened which caused loose tea. It was a mess when it arrived and I opened.
