They weren't kidding, this chain weighs 50 lbs. This is not the chain you toss into a messenger bag. The lock is good, but because both sides can be removed, locking this up is a handful. This chain and lock are NY tough, no doubt. It might be cumbersome and a handfull, but once its done you can fagetabutit

Very heavy chain and lock, looks secure as heck, but i have a MT-07 (naked bike) and this chain just barely barely fits through the frame, and 5feet is just barely enough to squeeze the shsckle through with a ground anchor, if this chain was 1 inch shorter, i couldnt use it, returning it for the 12mm version, will fit in the fram easier and should be 3 inches longer., Just make sure your bike has a 50x50mm opening around the frame, and that area isnt high up, a 5 foot chain is shorter than you think.

Heavy but good if you don't have to lug it along. Good as a stationary lock.

Best deal on this style lock, and the red cover is an awesome bonus. It really makes it unmistakeable/visible while protecting your bike from that beefcake 2000 beast of a chain. It's so massive. I have a prior version kryptonite chain and this one is truly twice as thick. The lock itself is big enough to fit in the disc brake holes and the chain is plenty long to either wrap around or through whatever.It's enormous, so maybe not a "travel" lock. Guess that depends on you and your situation.

As expected, this lock and chain is extremely large and heavy. Definitely not something you'd EVER take on a ride! Every single friend or family member I've shown it to has laughed at first sight of it, including me, because it's hilarious overkill! But that's exactly what I wanted. Lock works smoothly. You do have to be very careful not to ding the paint on your bike with the links on the end of this incredibly burly chain.

Never buy this; never attach this trash lock to anything! Lock function is very loose and sloppy. Keys do not line up well with the lock's internals, making it difficult and dicey each time as to whether you can actually unlock the lock. I keep motorcycle locked with this through the frame and tire, inside a garage, covered with a bike cover, and with the lock's keyhole cover switched into place, all to keep everything clean. I use the manufacturer's recommended brand of teflon lube for it, too. Worked ok-ish for six months, but now the poorly constructed, defective trash lock has shifted inside so badly that the keys will not turn beyond halfway and WILL NOT UNLOCK THE LOCK. So now my motorcycle is locked, held captive in my own garage, and I cannot unlock this lock to free it. Luckily, it's in my garage and is for recreation, not my primary vehicle. If my bike were locked with this trash product out in the world someplace or were my only means of transportation, I would have been seriously screwed. As it is, now I have to go buy an expensive angle grinder and diamond bkade cut-off wheel to saw this piece of [stuff] lock off like bike thief and rescue my own bike. I am also having the same loose/sloppiness with the internals and hard-to-open problem with another model of this lock, the 1215 lighter duty version. So it's not just a one-off defect, but the whole product line is trash. That 1215 model is my traveling lock, too, which I now refuse to use out in the world for fear I'll be stranded. The seller says to take it up with the manufacturer. Manufacturer says file a warranty claim and maybe I'll get a replacement. Amazon says go pound sand; not their problem since they weren't the seller. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEFECTIVE TRASH PRODUCT LINE ALTOGETHER.
