STANLEY Pliers Set, Bi-Material, Mini Set, 6-Piece (84-079)

I was afraid at first about how much I filed on the clippers thinking that I might be removing the tempered edge to a point that they would be useless and was a bit skeptical with how easy it was to file everything. I filed down the back side of the cutters until they were flat and filed down the top to a sharper cutting angle and now they are cutting wonderfully! I am using these on 20-18 gauge 1/4 hard galvanized steel with no problems and no blisters even after cutting 1,000 jump rings in a row without gloves. basically the whole set needs a bit of file love for all the burrs and sharp edges but after that they are more than worth what I paid for them twice over. since I am so mobile I wanted something small so I can make chainmail on the go whenever I have down time and this set is working out perfectly I highly recommend it!

This is a great set, especially for the price. I have been using them for upholstery. I use them mostly for removing staples and nails from the old upholstery fabric. Having the variety of tools in this set allows me to remove them no matter what condition or position they're in, something that would be much harder with just one tool. I use the small nipper to cut strips of metal tack strip easily. These are pretty small which comes in handy for storage but may be less than ideal if you have extra large hands. They're plenty big for most of us, and the handles are comfortable and non-slip. If you're looking for a set of tools that can handle multiple situations, I recommend these.

Nice set of pliers for a hobbyist for those into radio control models, electronics repair, jewelry work, crafts etc. They are small made in China but a step up from those generic imported no name tools. I used a fine diamond to touch up a few outside edge burrs. These pliers somewhat sharp out of the package but I decided to touch up the cutting edges with the diamond file to make them even sharper. Great for a light duty level of use a few times a week. If you are a pro using tools every day to make a living upgrade to Klein made in USA pliers and don't be such a cheapskate. For the average DIYer these will get the job done. The only tool a bit sub par is the channel joint pliers I put those in my bike saddle bag to adjust brake and shift cables otherwise I am not sure what I would use it for. The other tools work smooth are not sloppy and are spring loaded which is a big plus. If you plan to rewire your house or repair a lawn mower buy bigger tools these are for fine work on smaller jobs.

Smaller than thought but still useful for my needs

My wife destroyed a few pair of my wire cutting pliers by cutting chicken wire and who knows what else with them. Consequently, they don't work so good anymore. Decided it was time to replace them by ordering this set. Looked like a good deal and there's a couple different forms of cutters in there. Look good, feel good in hand and look like they should stand up to "normal" use. I expect them to last a long time. Stanley being a well known brand...and I'll be hiding them. ;)

I do a lot of watch and other items that require small tools. I saw this set of mini pliers and I have been very happy with the tools. They are well made, especially the handles, witch are rubber coated and won't slip when being used. Stanley is the poor man's tool but they work as well or better then some other tools sold by Sears. This is one good deal, six tools in the set and all are easy to use.

I bought these to use on various projects and they are the perfect size to keep in a small container near my sewing table, in easy reach whenever I need to use them. It's so nice to have my own set without having to go searching through the garage in my husbands numerous tool boxes trying in vain to find what I'm looking for. These are so much easier to have on hand and strong, sturdy tools for just about any job I have come up with.
