Great Product
All the reviews were good, so I decided to get them. These are perfect during Taxol chemo. I bought two sets. Each set lasted 90 minutes. I switched them out half way through three hours of chemo. I put them in the freezer overnight and took them to the treatment facility in a cooler. They stayed cold in the cooler. Make sure you get the right size and wear socks and lightweight gloves or surgical gloves from the facility, before putting them on. They are very cold and you don’t want to get frostbite. You are trying to prevent neuropathy. Lastly, don’t take the gel packs out before freezing. When you get home, you can take them out and wash the gloves and socks. Put the gel packs back in the gloves and socks and put them in the freeze for the next session.

Game-changer for reducing my foot pain!
These "ice pack booties" (my nickname for them) have been a game-changer for me! I have peripheral neuropathy, plantar fasciitis and metatarsalgia, so I've been experiencing some pretty severe foot pain. I've spent literally thousands of dollars on various medical visits and diagnostics and am now taking a nerve medication that has helped some with the nerve pain, but not the metatarsalgia. After I've been on my feet for a while, they really hurt, and this ice pack works well for me to help reduce the pain. They are easy to use -- I keep them in my freezer in the bag they were shipped in, and when my feet start hurting, I slip these on and rest in the recliner with my feet up. Because these socks have 3 ice packs (one that covers the sole of my foot, one across the top of my foot where I have a lot of pain, as well as one for the achilles area), they help relieve pain in all of the areas of my feet where I experience pain. I typically wear an 8-8.5 shoe, so I chose the large and it fits well for me. I've been using them almost daily for about 3 months, and they continue to work well for me. (I don't try to walk in them, I just use them when I put my feet up.) I am thankful to have found something that helps give me some relief!

A definite mixed bag for someone with feet my size or larger
The not so great stuff:1) I am a woman and I wear women's US11W, the equivalent of EU43 (wide width). I bought the Large pair, and they *barely* fit lengthwise. The cold packs that go into the soles of the socks are even shorter than the socks themselves, not by a lot but by enough. The upshot is, if you have feet larger than I do, you will not be able to wear these.2) On the instructions that come with the socks, it doesn't tell you how long to freeze them before use, or at least I couldn't find it. I finally found the info elsewhere online and it's two hours.3) The cold packs are very hard to get into the socks when frozen. The photo on Amazon shows the socks almost being a moleskin or fake suede, but in reality they are made of thin, silky overly stretchy material that is very hard to deal with. I found that it's best to put the cold packs into the socks while they are warm and easy to work with, then freeze everything together, leaving the cold packs in the socks all the time unless you're laundering the socks.4) Because the socks are almost too short, the heel cold packs are useless for me. They also make it impossible for me to get the socks on, and it's still super hard to get those packs in afterward. So basically, the heel packs stay in the freezer all the time and I don't use them at all. If your main area of concern is your heels and your feet are my size, beware.5) I have a high instep, so it's really hard for me to get my foot into what amounts a narrow channel when the packs are frozen and installed. There is plenty of room once my foot is in, but it's a pain to get them on every time. I've had to learn the "trick" to doing it, but even with that, it's not easy.6) I wouldn't walk around in these without house slippers on, especially on wood floors, they are too slick. However, they work fine with my house slippers, so I get to keep them on when I need to get up to do something instead of having to take them on and off all the time. Now let's get to the good things:1) The cold packs really work. My feet get much hotter than the rest of my body at times, especially my toes, and these socks absolutely work as advertised. They can be a bit TOO cold at first, so I found that if I wait about five minutes after removing from the freezer, they are more pliable (easier to get on) and are not so cold that they are painful.2) If it's a normal room temperature, they will stay cold a good while, more than enough time to get your feet cooled down for as long as it's healthy to use an ice pack on skin. They of course will warm up faster the hotter the room is, but that's to be expected.3) Because the cold packs are removable, the socks are actually really easy to keep clean. You can just throw them in the washer. I haven't put mine in the dryer, I just hang them up to dry, but they dry quickly so it's not a big deal.4) The socks come in a handy bag with a zip top that you can put them into to keep them in the freezer. The bag is surprisingly sturdy and because it's a zip top you can pack it in luggage, etc. and not worry about it.OVERALL: Overall I am fairly happy with the socks. They are not exactly what I was looking for, but at the end of the day, after a learning curve on a few things, they do the job and help keep my feet nice and cool.

Great for neuropathy
They are great for my neuropathy! I am thrilled with them. They refreeze quickly for your next use and are easy to get in and off. I have tried many things to help with the pain of my neuropathy and this product works great for controlling the extreme pain when the pain meds wear off.

Gloves are great, boots were useless...
I'm using this set while receiving chemo, to try and avoid neuropathy. The gloves are great, they stay icy cold for a long time. But my feet never felt even cool (and I was not wearing socks while using the booties). The ice packs in the boots are so small that any coldness was gone within about ten minutes.
