Simple solution to watering your plants while you're away for a few days
This works just fine. To slow down the flow, you need to tie a LOT of knots. Much easier to use than an automated watering system I tried out once. Just get some big containers (buckets, pretzel canisters, etc.) so you have enough water to last a while.

Works and Won’t Rot
I got these for plant self watering. I like that these are synthetic twin and won’t rot in the soil. Transports water via the capillary effect well. Good bang for the buck. Recommend.

Use these for self watering bases
I use these to replace the wicking ropes on Spider Farmer self watering bases/AC infinity bases. Get a lot of wicks for the price. Just cut it to fit your length you need

Excellent wicking performance!
These are great for my seedling starts! I was a little concern initially if they would wick enough water since they are only 1/6". Well, these wicks perform so well, that if they did any better, I would worry about the soil getting too wet. I will start making self-watering pots for my indoor plants with these also.If you look closely in the photo, you can see water droplets inside the transparent cup as evident of water being pulled up. I've had this setup for about 2 weeks now and have only watered from below through the wicks. I feel with the amount of water supplied to the plants via the wick is just right.

Keeps flowers perfect moisture
Very pleased with this wicking rope. I don’t water flowers very often now and they are growing so pretty because they stay just the right moisture.

It works. But try it first to adjust the length and the height it needs.
I did not believe it would work, but it does. I tried it before my vacations and it works. You need to adjust the place and the length of the rope so that the water doesn't fall before reaching the plant. So, I would recommend that you try it before using it, if you need it for vacations.
