Weber 1000/2000 Q Series Grill Out Handle Light

Just in time for the autumn! I like barbecuing a dinner and now the cool autumn is setting in I’m happy to have light on the grill. There’s nothing like a New York strip or shell steak barbecuing in the cool autumn with a nice bright light especially cleaning up.

This light is perfect. Love how it automatically shuts on/off when you open/close the lid. I grill a lot at night to avoid the summer heat so this helps me see in the dark on my patio. A bit pricey, but worth it.

this is our second grill handle light. First one is on our Weber Q 2000 at home. This one is going on the Q1000 we have for our RV now that we know how reliable this light is. It's great as it attaches directly to the handle and the aim can be adjusted.

This light is bright and is exactly what I was looking for! So happy not having to juggle a spatula and a flashlight. Easy install and when you turn it on every time you close the lid it goes off. I thought it would be weird to have on the handle but it works! Defiantly recommend getting this!

This works works well once you figure it out. The instructions could be clearer. At one point, I had it where it would turn off when you open the cover, and back on when you close it! If that happens, you have to remove and reinsert the batteries to reset. Unfortunately, I can't remember the correct installation order that I figured out. Now, it works great. I open the cover, press the button, the light turns on. Close the cover, it goes off. Provides good light for cooking.

I couldn't be more disappointed. This thing is so flimsy and unreliable that it is almost easier to duct tape a flashlight to the handle or just wear a headlamp. The design and quality of materials are a disaster:1. It does not install firmly on the handle. It wiggles up and down, contributing to the problem of the sensor making the light flicker. I installed it correctly and carefully, but they've actually designed the screws not to tighten completely. The threads only extend part way, so it cannot be secured to the handle.2. It flickers no matter how it is adjusted. If nothing moves, I can push it up and get it to stay on. If anything moves or vibrates it flickers off and on. When opening the lid it flickers off and on. You have to constantly jiggle it to keep it on.3. Even if I could keep it on, it would be shining directly into my eyes. The light does not adjust to fully shine down: the light is bare and unshielded from your eyes. This is horrible design. All it needs is a 1/4" shade at the front!4. The screws are incredibly soft. They are hard to turn, so after installing it they are almost stripped. Unfortunately you have to unscrew a very tight, partially stripped screw to change the batteries. I doubt I can do that more than once or twice before the screw is completely stripped.Junk design.

It has one LED therefore I thought it wouldn't be enough but surprisingly it is more than enough, for me at least. (After install) You need to press once to acitvate the light. Then it has a sensor within so when you close the lid it turns off. It will turn on when you open the lid. There is no Off button . It has a timer within. May not be cheap but I love it and the build quality is really good. Definitely do suggest it.

I like this light, it points right at my food and provides good illumination for grilling at night. The auto on/off feature is a bit hit or miss for me. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. When it doesn't work you have to press the rubber button on the outside which does not always work either at first. Not sure if it needs a long press or me to press harder.It does make it harder to use the handle, but I expected that. Another downside is that putting the grill weather cover on is a bit of a squeeze with this installed.My last complaint is the price, I think it should be $10 for what you get.Overall though,I am still glad I got the light and it fits my Q2200 well.
