Great for the price, Everything works!
I got this for an old 21 year old 2004 Toyota Corolla that our household uses as a secondary car. I use it to commute to work since it has better MPG than a large truck but I need to have music! replaced a 2007 JVC DVD player which was also a hand me down from another car and finally the skip buttons stopped working.I figured for $35....if it lasts a year I'll be satisfied ...My main 'needs'.... volume knob and TF card or USB player. This has both and Bluetooth and came with a backup camera!...all for $35!!. mind you, the JVC was $400 in 2007.install was regular with the exception of 2 wires and an issue with the backup camera, explained in a bit Normally orange is a radios constant power that keeps the time on the clock and radio settings. This had another color but as long as you follow the wire diagram on the unit you can't mess it up. Possibly the other wire was the yellow one which should be illumination.the rear camera... since reviews here indicate the camera is junk I installed it away from rain as much as possible. I removed the Corolla handle and drilled a hole on the upper section so the camera is out of the way from getting rained on. it's been 2 weeks, so I'll update this in a few months to note how long it lasted. I don't really care for the camera but it was a nice bonus.the wiring...you tap into a reverse light, and the yellow RCA has a red cable which you add to 1 of the taps. on the radio side, there was no instructions on what to do with the red wire coming from the RCA. originally i connected it to red power, but the reverse didn't work and I had to switch to video on the radio. it also came in blurry or messed up. I left it like this for a a day or 2. went for a test drove and the transmission did not shift out of 1st... thinking it was a coincidence spent a few hours troubleshooting the issue with no answer. chatted a friend and he told me what to do with the RCA red wire. it connects to the pink wire that comes from the back of the radio. I believe it's labeled something parking. (his Chinese radio showed what to do with the RCA red wire) once I did this, the camera came on when I put the car in reverse and the transmission started shifting gears again. I know, sounds like a story...my only guess is connecting to power created some sort of short which kept the transmission shift solenoid to always closed....but whatever, it works.the only complaint is the screen color. it's too washed out, so on a sunny day it's hard to make out the screen...but hey...it's $35!!! I love it. once you hit loudness it sounds better than the stock AM/FM this car came with. navigating the menus is easy, setting it up was easy to figure out. lots of options. okays old mpg and Avi files as well as mp4s. shuffle works for entire disc, can't say the same for Rams Uconnect radio....overall, great radio. forget the little things....it's $35!!I had to chop up the bezel I used with the previous radio. this radio is slightly wider and would not fit the bezel. I ended up with a hole between the radio and dash, but...it's $35!!!. maybe I'll try to find a better bezel. the radio mount I used didn't allow to tilt the radio on an an angle that would probably fix the issue but it's not the radios fault.

It's Me (and the car) Not Them
At first I could not get it to work. After trying several times I was about to return it but decided to take one more go based on some video info. 2006 Silverado does NOT have a switched power so I ran a line to the fuse panel and wired the ACC and switched power together into the cruise control fuse. Bingo. Came right up. Display was bright and readable, all the radio stations came in clear and strong.. Connected bluetooth to my phone, streamed some music and even made a call. Plugged a USB cord in and the phone started to charge and mirrored. Good sound. For the price, you can't beat it. Four stars for the sketchy instructions and the retrofitting I had to do with the faceplate I bought but even that is not really the fault of the unit; somebody didn't measure before buying everything. The installation components cost more than the head unit itself. Now to see if it lasts.

Junk
I'm changing editing my review. I originally rated it five stars, it worked great when I first got it. I've had it 2 years now and it just stopped working one day when I was driving down the road. I checked all the connections everything was good. I replaced it with a different head unit and the new one works great.I would not recommend purchasing this head unit. They do not last and they are cheaply made and the sound quality is terrible. And the operating system for AM/FM is confusing and hard to see the screen when the sun is glaring on the screen.
