Strong wifi signal , easy set up
I was not sure whether to get a mesh system or bridge my ISP modem to a new router to fix a few wifi black spots in my house. My ISP supplied router is by no means a bad one in terms of signal though..I did some research on signal strength of various routers as that was the only thing I was really interested in. A router doesn't make your internet speed any faster. As reference - house is detached dormer bungalow with a footprint of 10m x 20m (30x60ft) with 260sqm (2800sq ft) living area. All concrete block walls downstairs, wooden floor and stud walls upstairs. Router placed in the centre of the house downstairs. This router didn't disappoint..No more blackspots in the house and overall a 5-10 DBM improvement, especially on the 5Ghz band- I now have a usable signal in the whole house (-70DBM at worst where I didn't have signal before)I can't say anything about speed as I only have less than 100Mbps download speed and this router maintains this throughout the house.Setup was easy - just update firmware before you start.Haven't used the app yet and only had the router since yesterday - so I "reserve the right" to update my review later.. but for now all good.. and with wifi 6 it is kind of future proof as well - and with 3 years warranty..

Great router, not as fast as suggested
I bought this to replace the Asus Blue cave due to TP-Link smart plugs crashing the Blue cave. The router is easy to set up, protects the wifi etc., okay; I would recommend this for anyone on a 150MB internet connection max, Which brings me to the problem. On my blue cave I can reach 370MB on a 360MB connection, the tp-link can play active 170MB on a good day, even hardwired.I have now had to reinstate the blue cave and piggyback this as an access point to sort out my smart plugs situation.Speed tests from the tp-link wifi show 250MB via piggybacking. The router doesn't know how to handle more incredible internet speeds. The results mean I have two wifi SSID with smart connect WiFi 2.4/5ghz links for any connections I would like. Handy as Alexa's, smart plugs etc on one and the other for PC's Xbox etc.Overkill either way but stops A wifi bug between tp-link and asus

Router
This router transformed my WiFi coverage the signal was mediocre at best with Virgin media's hub 3.Now with my tplink 3000 I have coverage throughout my home,it's a definite thumbs up from me👍🏻

SoSo signal on both bands and some future proofing with 6g wifi.
Very easy to set up and the ios app works well although you can’t use it to change the more advanced settings. It’s very easy to update the firmware within the app though. Both wifi bands give a reasonable signal but not as good as an asus rt-ax82u. I’m getting 522mb/s wifi at the router but no more than 100mb/s outside the room where the router is located so I’m not too impressed. It has 6g wifi also which can be switched off until I get some compatible devices. It has connected easily to my smart cameras also.It does get quite warm but I’ve used 2 strips of wood to raise the router to get air to circulate under it. This has solved the problem.I bought an asus rt-ax82u which had a far stronger signal and the smart wifi also works better than this router. This is being returned and I’m keeping the asus.

Brilliant piece of kit, string, fast and reliable connection so far
I thought I’d jump into the WiFi 6 world as my old ‘ac’ class Netgear router was struggling with gaming ‘children’ 4K TV, and multiple smart devices - kept dropping and connection was slow = lots of household moans. So as there seems to be no integrated DSL modem-routers out there in the market, I paired this Archer AX50 with a DrayTek Vigor 130 modem. The modem did the business, passing the internet signal straight to the Archer AX50 with no configuration required. My ISP is BT and the Archer AX50 was then a breeze to set up with them via the Tether app which is very very easy to use. I’d recommend using the ‘Auto Detect’ option though when selecting the internet connection type. I was online again literally in minutes. 24 hours in, I have a strong reliable fast signal with no drop outs. Coverage around the house is also good except in hard to reach places for which I’ve the odd powerline and extender here and there. Very impressed so far and very happy ‘children’ (they are actually in their 20s!)

If you use smart plugs/devices or use PCVR then avoid this, I wish I had.
If you're an average user then this will be great because the wifi signal and strength is phenomenal, but if you're like me and you want to use it with Smart Plugs (TP Link Kasa) or with the quest 2 with PCVR then this will be a big mistake.Let's start with the TP link kasa plugs, even on the standard superhub 3 they performed flawlessly with no issues at all, since connecting to the Archer ax50 I've had a nightmare of a time, if the router loses signal, gets switched off or if theres a powercut then it wont connect to all the devices, it will connect to say half, if I reset it again then it will connect to a random number including the ones that previously didnt connect and wouldnt connect to others so whichever and however many it connects to is completely random each time, so I have to reset the smart plug, forget it in the app, reconnect it and repeat. Every. Single. Time. Now for the PCVR, with the quest 2 its amazing, the signal never drops and it's great, now when I use either airlink or virtual desktop to connect it to the PC or constantly stutters every 30/40 seconds no matter what settings i select (I've got a top of the range pc) I've recently found out this is a problem with this exact model router, the cheaper models appear to work, this is to do with the AX on the router, you have to change it to AC for it connect which defeats the point of this router altogether, there appears to be no other fix for this so I will contact support now again and if theres a fix I'll update this immediately, if you're reading this then there isn't a working fix and I will be returning this router, I will note that again even the superhub 3 performed way better in this regard too, and the VR is within 2 meters and direct line of site from the router in the same room.
