Good fresh fruit.

Fresh and delicious!

Arrived quick, fully packaged in an insulated mylar bag and frozen packs. Delivered earlier than estimated, the produce was cold and fresh. Oranges have a juicy sweet flavor, pears are light crisp and pleasant, the grapefruits are to die for and the apples have a great crisp ,sweet and crunchy snap to them (for the most part) my only issue (and this really isn't a huge issue) was my apples were buried and arrived quite bruised. All of them had atleast one soft bruise from packaging, one wasn't salvageable. But, as long as I eat them quickly enough they should be just fine. It looked like someone may have just dumped the pears on the apples causing bruising. Not worth deducting stars or even worth complaining.. if the company happens to read this, just thinking maybe a bubble layer between the apples oranges, apples, and pear to help protect the more delicate fruits.

Very, Very Disappointed-The Corona Virus Concerns this Christmas lead me to consider and purchase Fruit Gifts as a healthy enjoyable gift that not simply one person, but an entire family may enjoy.I recalled in my family receiving beautiful cases of high grade, colorful, plump, “Gourmet”, oranges, as defined here in the description and was thrilled w/ the idea of giving to others,I just purchased over 20 cases/ $1,200. of this company’s, “Gourmet Fruit Gift Boxes of Oranges/ Grapefruit. As my friend opened her family’s, “Gift Box”, that I sent to her family, she obviously thanked me, but on inquiry seeing my disappointment she said, “It really lacks the Wow Factor”!I went to the grocery store, “Kroger”, a few hours later to pick up some other holiday foods and right at the door/ produce department I was greeted by these near identical oranges I received just hours before!They were on sale at Kroger for 50 cents each or six for $3. I realized three things.1. I just purchased 588 pieces, 21 Gift Boxes of this fruit for $2. A PIECE!2. I spent over $1,200. For a special gift for family and friends, in many cases the only gift I would purchase for them this Holiday.3. The Oranges arrived in a relatively non-descript box with what looked like was a Kroger produce department crate, dumped into a box and shipped to me.To the first person seeing this gift box saying, It is, “Far from a, “Wow Factor”, Special Gift representing, “Gourmet”, of any kind. A Far from nearly $2.00 pieces of fruit. I bought a LOT OF THEM!I am even more hurt and disappointed this crazy Covid Christmas. I clearly know these, “Gift Boxes”, will not remotely send the extra message of love I Intended for my loved ones and family, during this already very difficult holiday season of separation from family and friends.These did not remotely send the message I intended.

First, the positive. All of the oranges are very large and absolutely perfect. The good, okay, and bad? All of the apples are very nice except one that is very bruised and will need a large inedible section cut off. The pears were merely okay looking but taste fine. The grapefruit are very tiny and not attractive, but they will also probably taste fine. So, yes, I probably will order again but only for personal use, not as a gift. It did arrive very quickly, but I would agree with some other reviewers who suggested that perhaps the fruit should have more layers of packing to prevent damages.

I'm always picky with the fruits in my area stores because lack of freshness and availability. Now I'm so pleased with my order from Capital City. I believe they're the healthiest fresh fruit to eat.

I gave this order a medium mark because of the high quality and condition of the fruit and the wonderful taste of citrus products but there were some questions aout the packaging. One of the photos shows a basket with handle. There was no basket enclosed. I do need a basket but it would look better in a basket as a gift. The fruit is piled up inside a strong, heavy duty bag that contains a large amount of padding between inner and outer walls. The outside of this sturdy bag is covered in heavy weight foil. Under the foil bag was one piece of padded paper that perhaps once contained dry ice, although there was nothing present, no any evidence of a bag that might have once contained dry ice and the interior temperature inside the bag was cooler than the ambient temperature outside. As for the shrink wrap, like the basket, it was nonexistent. In spite of all the above, the fruit arrived in excellent condition and all that has been eaten so far was of very high quality.
