I am very please with the destiler. very easy to use and the performance is great. One thing to tell is they should include a manual with the equipment, set up mine by looking at the picture and the video on amazon. Also mine came with the thermometer broken.

VERY IMPORTANT, the box contains only glassware and the heating unit. There are no setup instructions or diagrams, but you can reference the amazon photo if you are not familiar with how to set up the glassware.The glassware was packed nicely in foam and that can be saved to be used later to store your glassware. The glassware is a decent quality. The only recommendation I have is to buy a separate heating unit. I do have a heating mantle with stirrer that I will use with this glassware. The heating unit that came with the kit should be used out side or under a hood at first. The heating unit seems to have lots of residue that burned off when I turned it on and cause a lot of smoke, but I had it under a hood so it wasn't a problem for me. Also the arms for the glassware seems to be a little short for the designed configurations, keep that in mind when setting it up. Other that that, it was a decent price for a 2ml distillation kit.

When I assembled the set and turned on the burner, the first thing I noticed was smoke coming out of it.I shut it off and took it outside, then turned it on after plugging it into an extension cord to see if it would catch fire.After a minute it stopped smoking and just got hot, which it's supposed to. I cooled it then brought it inside and set it back up.then I noticed that when turned all the way up for AN HOUR, the water is barely hot enough to bubble a little.The glass is nice and heavy, the assembly is easy enough, but I'm going to have to get a new burner and after reading other reviews, I don't trust the company to send a burner that won't do the same thing.

Had a broken boiling flask they made it right and shipped a new one, was a process especially because I contacted the manufacturer don't contact the manufacturer direct.They made it right through Amazon and I greatly appreciate it!

Parts of this distiller are decently made but the heating element is so poor, it doesn't generate enough heat. I'd give it a zero rating if possible. It took literally the whole day for the heating stove to come up not even to get to a boiling point just to get hot. This made this tedious and a waste of time and my electric bill is probably going to be sky high. Waste of time, wouldn't recommend this distiller.

I have used this set up to steam distill a couple of different herbs including mullein, and rosemary. Neither seemed to produce much oil, they are not exactly oily plants. But the floral water I processed had a very strong smell of the herb. I was impressed with how strong it was. I bottled it and after a month opened it up and it was still as strong as when I first distilled it. Maybe after some more trial and error with different plants I will figure out how to get the oil. ;)

This was the best learning experience for me everything came without a break a crack nothing love this item

All the glass sealed but the hot plate doesn't work at all. I checked to make sure socket had power and plugged in but no temperature change. The glass is thicker than expected which is good but haven't been able to use it yet
