The wood is is beautiful but I painted my stool the match my antique vanity and it’s perfect. Just a personal preference, I love painted furniture, it really brings out the detail The cabriole legs are a great match. Just like some of the other reviewers I didn’t care for the shiny satin fabric and felt it was too much, but it was easy to recover the stool. Be aware that the seat is small so if you have a generous bottom that may be an issue. For me it was perfect and I love the way it tucks under the vanity. This is a sturdy, well made, solid wood piece. It was super easy to put together so that was a plus. This item may seem a bit spendy but the quality is definitely there so it’s worth the buy.

Easy to assemble -- and all the pieces fit securely. I finished in about 5 minutes. Sturdy and looks tidy under the desk. I like the extra height -- 21.5 inches is perfect for me because I'm only 5'3" and the normal height of 19" means my arms have to lift up in an uncomfortable way to reach the keyboard. This stool is great.
