Absolutely worth the high price
I don’t give a lot of 5-star reviews, but this is excellent. Sure, $80 is a lot to pay for a garment with such simple tailoring. In my experience the smoothness, softness and texture of this serape is second only to cashmere wool. The weaving looks flawless. What little stitching there is appears to be well-executed. Overall, it has the look and feel of clothing made to last for many years. The sizing is generous. Laid out flat like a blanket, mine measures about 72”x42”. Worn in the usual manner, the sides come down to about my elbows. The hood is a little more snug than an average hoodie jacket, but fits me just fine. For reference, I’m male, 5ft 9in, about 175lbs, average build and wear a size large hat. Some reviews mention that the fabric is not as thick as the reviewer was expecting. My example is about 1/16in thick. It’s about as thick as I expected, and feels “about right” when worn.

Perfect high quality
Mine is now 2 years old and still looks like it did on day one. These are very warm. I use them on moderately cool days over a tee shirt, frigid frozen temps over my winter coat. I use it on my legs as a throw, slept under it as my only cover a few times. After my wife saw how much I used it she bought my a poncho that looks pretty dressy, also wool but a different type, almost furry. Thicker. But it is not half as good as this one. This one is definitely warmer. Super happy with this purchase

Very soft and warm
I bought this poncho to wear on an airplane, and it was great, like a wearable blanket. It’s soft and warm, but not too thick and heavy. I have started now wearing it during chilly nights by the fire pit.

Ponchos are awesome
After shoulder surgery, I was not able to wear shirts. It is winter so bound to get a little chilly. Poncho to the rescue.Even if I didn't have a medical need, this thing is cool. I love the design and the material is soft.Recommended if you ever find yourself looking for a poncho.

Weird and great
Ordered this after freezing one night on the Appalachian trail. It arrived vacuum-sealed so I didn’t know what to think at first, but I wore it out by the fire in my backyard last night and it was incredibly comfy; not itchy.Could work as a warm poncho or a blanket. Not heavy. I’m excited to hit the trail again with this thing.

Love this but I wish there were covers on the drawstrings

2 Years In, Still Great
We ordered this just about 2 years ago in November of 2021 to help keep me warm post-surgery on my shoulder. Can't put on a hoodie when your shoulder needs to remain in place or you risk popping out your new shoulder and crying in pain. And it does a nice job at that, to this day. It amazingly does a great job at keeping me warm and remains comfortable. I was worried it'd be itchy from the wool, but it is so comfortable I find myself wearing it more often than my favorite jacket due to the ease of putting it on and keeping it on.The wool is starting to fray in parts, mostly in the front, but it's not coming apart at the seems or anything. I often wear it when I'm doing the dishes to keep warm without getting something like a hoodie's sleeves damp. I have full range of motion plus keeping warm on my torso.I often find that I can wear a shirt, underwear, and this poncho, and keep warm (until certain temperatures) if I sit crisscross applesauce and have my arms tucked in. Inside of course, outside with a wind that wouldn't work as well. And outside in general clothing, it blows nicely and clings to your torso against the wind. I find keeping my arms tucked together like a Russian muff in the winter helps me stay warm against cold and windy days. And best of all, it's a great way to add layers that is easy to put on, take off, and keep more range of motion than most other clothing. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs a poncho or to stay warm post surgery above the belt.
