I have suffered with neck pain from awkward sleeping positions on subpar pillows and hours commute daily in a car for a while. I tried chiropractors, creams, heating pads and had no luck. This pillow, for me changed it all. I will occasionally have a small twinge of pain in my neck after a long day of looking down at my newborn, but the pillow doesn’t compound it from day to day. Had no issues with smell out of the box. Firm yet soft feel. The purple honey comb pattern is really comfortable. Extremely high quality. I sleep on my back, stomach, side, everything and this thing is great for it all. It can get a little warm after not moving but not to a level that wakes me up. I would get a pillow case as the breathable outer layer can stain like any other pillow. I did the fitting on the purple website and they recommended the medium size for me. 5’10 230 with a smaller head and wide shoulders. Highly recommend.

Pillows are a difficult item to buy in that people's comfort is very subjective. I have gone through 4 or 5 different types of pillows over the past few years, but ultimately ended up with my neck hurting. Although so many pillows feel wonderful at the store, it's really evaluating them over the test of time that is the bottom line criteria. At this point, I have been loving them for the past 3 months or so.Recently Wirecutter did an article on recommended pillows. Although I did not take their recommendation, I learned a few things to evaluate when looking for a pillow. The fact that the technology behind Purple pillows is so different appealed to me and seemed promising.I originally ordered the medium height but found that was a bit too high for me, and so I exchanged for the low height. Cannot speak highly enough about them. I can comfortably position my shoulders/neck/head while on my back or on my side and still feel the pillow supporting those areas that don't directly press against the pillow.The one concern I initially had upon opening the pillows was the strong smell. I read in a few places that it is recommended to allow time to air them out. I was skeptical, but removed the pillows from their cases and laid them out on the backs of chairs. Just to note, the inner portion of the pillow is a sort of silicone honeycomb pattern. The outside case is thick and padded with memory foam. The pillows are a bit heavier in weight than anything I had previously experienced.I had a fan on them at high speed for at least 2 days before I began to see a change. It may have taken a bit longer than the 2 days but, with Amazon's 30 day window of return, I was willing to take a chance. It has all worked out very well. As a matter of fact, if anything, the extra weight of the pillows keep them i place on my bed as I move around during the night. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE PILLOWS AND THANK THE PURPLE PILLOW COMPANY FOR A GREAT PRODUCT.

This pillow has been a LIFE CHANGER!!! NEVER would I have believed that just a pillow could be such a game changer! For decades I have been struggling every night to shift my old feather pillows around to (what I thought) was perfect, only to awaken in the night to the need to do it again. AND AGAIN! Then, when I’d wake in the morning, I’d still feel tired, and my neck and shoulders would feel beaten! I seldom felt rested. Now, once my head hits my pillow, I am SOUNDLY ASLEEP within a few minutes! I am sleeping like a rock, with NO bunching up or flip flopping all night just to get comfortable! No more feeling as though I’d been in a street fight all night! I thought I was crazy spending so much for a pillow, but I WAS SO WRONG! SPEND THE MONEY PEOPLE. Get a wonderful nights’s rest!

This pillow does many things right. Its soft, yet, firm. It contours well. One downside is the weight and heat retention. It is heavy, so moving it around can be a tad annoying, and it does seem to retain heat more than I would like. Outside of those two, this pillow has been wonderful.The cost is a bit steep for a pillow, however, this ain't your dad’s pillow. This pillow will stay fluffed and never permanently flatten. That's thanks to the unique filling that is similar to the beds they manufacture.Pros: Comfortable, always rebounds to original state, users will get great sleep with itCons: Weight, price, heat retentionOverall: This pillow is worth the purchase if you have the extra money available and don't mind spending an excessive amount. My rating is reflected primarily by the cost since the other two are minor complaints. Get this pillow, and enjoy some good sleep. 4/5

I had the best night’s sleep with my standard size pillow made by Purple it was delivered right on time! And beautifully packaged..I have 6 herniated disks in my neck & could never find a pillow that didn’t give me painful cricks during the nite, last nite I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud, I had a silk pillow case standard size that fit perfectly & my hair isn’t wild & crazy this morning😂I’m so grateful to Purple thank you! I’m looking forward to many restful nights from now on! I highly recommend Purples products..I will be saving for a purple mattress..that’s on my future wish list..

I have neck and back issues. Have tried other orthopedic brands and comfort brands. No results - Zilch ! And because of the price of this one, I hesitated to buy. But I’m so glad I did ! The third day I did not have pain in my neck ! I would highly recommend trying. I have been using for almost 2 weeks. So far so good ! I am shorter in stature and maybe some of the orher pillows were too tall and too hard for me. All I know is that this seems to work !

I really wanted to love this pillow, but it just didn’t live up to the hype—or the price tag. It has a cool honeycomb outer layer and that signature gel-like Purple feel, but I got the king size with medium fill and it’s way too flat for me. It’s also weirdly heavy, which might be why it feels so low once your head’s on it. If I splurge on a pillow again, it won’t be this one. Three stars for effort, but not a repeat purchase.
