Safe-T is a hormone-free vaginal contraceptive sponge that is made from a soft, flexible material. It is the only sponge that contains a gel that combines three spermicides, which increase the sponge's effectiveness up to 91% prevention. The sponge acts as a physical barrier, but it is unnoticeable by either partner. Safe-T is designed for maximal comfort, and its insertion / extraction is conductor-free. It is possible to have sexual intercourse several times without removing an individual sponge (limited use up to 12 hours from insertion). The sponge is not sticky and does not leave oily residue after use, unlike contraceptive suppositories. Safe-T is recommended by gynecologists. Approved by the Israel Ministry of Health - registration number 8350433. The sponge is approved by the Jewish Halacha for pregnancy prevention. Please read the enclosed patient instructions carefully use prior to use. How To Use: Take the sponge out. Moisten it with about 2 tablespoons of water and Apply gentle pressure on the sponge to activate the spermicide. Get into a comfortable position, such as squatting. Fold the sides of the sponge up. Use one or two fingers to slide it into your vagina as far as you can. Use one finger to check that it covers your entire cervix. Leave the sponge for at least 6 hours after the sex, but not more than 30 hours to prevent infection. Check the sponge for any damage. If its torn, run a finger around the upper part of your vagina to sweep out any remaining pieces of the sponge Throw the used sponge in the trash. Don't flush it down the toilet. Don't reuse a contraceptive sponge.

Only somewhat comparable to the classic Today Sponge
If you are a fan of the Today Sponge, you’ve probably been looking for that to either comeback into production or find a replacement product following its discontinuation around the beginning of the pandemic, in early 2020. This is smaller in size, think about a quarter size versus a golf ball/plum for comparison. The “loop” for removable is not as easily graspable to be manipulated as the original. This really just has a slit in the sponge that allows you to hook a finger through, and it seems a bit fragile as if the sponge may tear if you aren’t relaxed enough when removing it. This is also a different type of material than the today sponge, this material doesn’t feel quite as dense. If you are sensitive to spermicides take it easy on this option, you could possibly have a reaction where it is irritating. I think another reviewer mentions that these are not safe to have in place for up to 24 hours as the today sponge was. These are only effective/can be left in place for 12 hours. Because I prefer this style of non hormonal, barrier style contraceptive, I’ll keep coming back to this. I continue to make wishes, offerings, and prayers for the return of the greatest original Today Sponge.

Easy to use
From someone whose used the Today Sponge for years, it's easy to use, very durable, and it doesn't break easily or get stuck. The only complaint I have is the amount of time that one can be used for (12 hours) vs 24hrs of the Today Sponge. However since the latter is no longer offered, this is a good alternative.
