Getting it by the case at Amazon is a better deal
This stuff is super expensive at the grocery store, but getting it by the case is a better deal. Prime Shipping seals the deal! When I open the can, I pour off the oils that have floated to the surface, then I add celery seed and sometimes some sunflower seed kernels as well - for a bit of extra flavor and a nice crunch. Great with wheat thins for an easy lunch at work.

Not reliable the company has a lot of excuses for not having it available.
The product is wonderful; I don't like the price, but it is good.

Possibly the best of the Underwood canned meats
So I have tried Underwood's deviled ham and roast beef spreads, and while they are good, THIS one is the top of the list out of the 3. It has a flavor that is perfect for dishes that ask for chicken flavor. I made a southwest macaroni salad last night, and used 5 cans of it mixed in. It was DELISH! Of course it is also great for just making a chicken salad OR just straight out of the can spread on your favorite crackers or in a sandwich with some cheese and a slice of tomato. In other words, it is pretty versatile. It also has good shelf life, so you can stock up for your food larder.

Texture ain't there
I often see the Ham and Roast Beef flavors in my local grocery but haven't seen the chicken spread in a long time, maybe around 7 years since the last time I saw it at my local grocery and had some, bought a 24 pack to see if it's like I remembered.Flavor is more or less the same, but I could've sworn the texture was chunkier last time I had this, it's too thin for my preferences and presumably a lot of people won't like the consistency of this spread either. Not amazing but I can see some people liking this stuff, would have bought the Roast Beef spread 100% if the price wasn't 24 bucks higher than the chicken spread.

A Delicious "Must-Have" Item in My Pantry!
My wife and I really love Underwood Chicken Spread we ensure we have some in our pantry. It is very delicious and such a great convenience when you want to make a quick sandwich or snack with crackers. I especially love the fact that unlike deli meats, I don't have to worry about it going bad in just a few short days. Being able to purchase a case of this "Must-Have" item for a reasonable price is the best option for me.

I love this product my cat likes it too
My cat tries to steal the can when I am eating it so I give him a tiny bit on the tip of a spoon. He loves chicken like I do. I am autistic and I don't like sweets but salty foods are heavenly. I don't eat a lot of salt so this is a luxury food item for me. I put it on other foods to add flavor. I like it on chicken tamales and bean burritos. Put a tiny bit on a bite of food is the best. Also, It is oily so you need to mix it before serving it. It's not water, it's oil. I noticed other reviews complaining about the watery texture. It's normal for potted meat to be oily, you have to mix it before serving. Oil is part of the flavor and texture of potted meat. I learned how to make potted meat from my family. It was a family affair. There's different techniques for potting meat.

AMAZON PRICE-GOUGING AT ITS WORST!!
Last month I bought a case of 24 cans and the price was $49.92. Today, less than a month later I go back to the same exact Amazon page to reorder more and I was beyond shocked to see Amazon has increased the price to an outrageous and unaffordable $69.48!! This is absolute price-gouging!! Furthermore, they have changed the recipe for this chicken spread. Have eaten this for many decades, the product always used to be thick and spreadable, but now it is poorly made and is very thin and runny. Not only that, manufacturer is filling the cans an inch less to the top to rip-off consumers. Every can in every case is that way now, when the cans ALWAYS used to be full to the top in the past, thick and spreadable. Also, now there's disgusting oil floating on top you always have to pour off first before using. That added oil lets them put EVEN LESS actual product into the cans now. Really tired of being scammed on this item. The manufacturer is completely ripping off consumers with their deceptive practices, and then Amazon suddenly increases the price by $20 at once! Never again will I be scammed on this sludge that now has the consistency of low-grade pet food. Here's a photo of what you get in the cans now, that photo was taken by another Amazon customer who posted it on a similar review here. I have no cans left to take a photo myself, but this is honestly how every can in a case is now. Yet Amazon increases the price $20 more? Truly despicable! In 1999 B&G Foods acquired the Underwood brand and the products they have produced ever since have really gone way down in quality while absolutely skyrocketing in price. William Underwood is turning in his grave at what this deplorable, deceptive, incessantly greedy corporation has done to his once great line of food products.
