Drill America 12 Piece Carbon Steel NPT Pipe Tap and Die Set, 1/8", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" and 1" in Wooden Case

It meets my requirements for threading soft material. It arrived on schedule and in excellent condition. The price was good.

Good seems to good quality just wooden box is very fragile only issue so far

The taps and dies are accurate and functional but I often have to reverse the die when cleaning up fitting threads to get to clean metal before bottoming out. Which sometimes leaves a cutting ridge which is harder to seal. These would be more functional for the intended thread cleanup purpose if the dies were somewhat smaller in diameter and the taps larger. They work fine on straight pipe however. This is a good price for what they are

The media could not be loaded. Bought as a set to have at the shop because they claim to be a good quality. I’m not pleased with them because the 3/8” tap wouldn’t even chase a 3/8” nptthread hole on a cast iron burner that I needed for a shrimp boil. Broke a steel nipple off in the burner and removed it (reason for buying the set) and when I used it to chase the threads it galled them and damaged the tap first try. Yes lube (gear oil) was used and it still damaged the tap. Tried the 1” die on a piece of 1” pipe that was rusted to clean it (as described by their advertised product) and it galled the threads about two threads in. Screwed the other end of the pipe into a collar to make sure I wasn’t missing something and it screwed up about 3-4 rounds and it only got tight due the lack of lube. I wouldn’t advise buying this to anyone.

Tap & die quality very good for price! This is something you won't use all the time but when needed will be invaluable. Latches are really cheap just have to be aware they are completely closed! Over all would reccomend!

This would cause more damage rather than repairing. Every single die in the set looks like absolute garbage. Returning.
