Basic classic kitchen timer
I was so happy to find this classic kitchen timer on Amazon. My elderly mom had been looking for a new timer. The ones she found at the local stores were all electronic and too complicated for her to use. She was thrilled to receive this good old fashioned timer.

Lux Minute Minder Provides Usefulness & It Is Never A Waste Of Time.
I have been looking for a "new" kitchen timer for quite awhile and this make and model fit the bill and was so affordable, I ordered two of them. It has a loud ringer, easy to read dark/black numbers, no batteries, does not take up a lot of space on any counter and being white matches whatever prevailing color(s) your kitchen is (or wherever else you might use it). Lux, the manufacturer, also lists all of the dos and don'ts on the back of the cardboard container the timer is shipped in which also helps anyone in the proper use of this timer and prolonging it life's usage as well.

Timer
I like the timer, but it is not loud enough when it goes off, I need two just to hear it, that was a disappointment for me. Can not hear it in another room, got to be in kitchen to hear it, I needed a louder one.

Great Timer When It Works (It Doesn't)
I've had Lux timers all my life, they're so easy to use with a nice, loud & long ring that I am evidently trained to hear over all the other sounds in a busy kitchen/house. I've had timers that have lasted more than a decade, through many crashes to a hard floor where the front piece has popped off and all I had to do was put it back on and the timer would keep on working like a champ. No longer. When my last "lifer" timer broke last year, the Lux I replaced it with died after just a few months. I thought it must be a fluke so I bought another, which also inexplicably stopped working too.I didn't even have time to drop this one! There's no reason it should crap out so soon, it's only been used once or twice a day, gently, on a kitchen counter. Now instead of ringing when time runs out, it'll ring when I pick it up when I remember I set it. Totally useless. Oh Lux.... you've let me down.Lux will likely let you down, too. I wouldn't trust this timer. Sorry.

An old timing solution equal to electronic timing.
The Lux timer is easy to use, very portable, and very light.

Sounds like a phone
Works fine--just remember to turn it past the 30 minute mark then back when using the timer for amounts like 10-15 minutes. I was surprised that the ring was long--like a phone. I had a vintage one--made in USA--that my mom gave me. It worked for about 50 years, then quit. Wondering if this one will last as long. Update on timer--December 2021--sometimes it rings and sometimes it doesn't. I guess this one is not going to last for 50 years like my original one. Check on this timer if you have something like cookies in the oven!
