Vivaplex 50, Clear, Empty, 5.5 ml Lip Balm Tubes with White Caps

So happy with these lip balm tubes--highly recommend. I used another brand previously (left side in the picture with clear cap) and they only filled up about 2/3 of the way down, which was really frustrating to me. THESE Vivaplex tubes (right side in the picture with white cap) fill up all the way to the bottom so you're really getting full use of the tube. If you happen to want to sell your lip balm, you won't look like you're trying to short-change your customers. If you just do it for personal use, you won't have to use so many tubes to hold the same volume of lip balm.All the caps came off easily and fit back on easily. I've filled up all the tubes with lip balm and none leaked that I've noticed. I haven't tested all fifty tubes for up and down twisting motion, but the ones that I tried worked well.One thing to note is if you've bought another brand's "rack" for filling these up, these might not fit (they didn't fit in the rack I had bought). But I just set them up in a disposable take-away container to catch any drips and then used a plastic pipette to fill them up with the lip balm liquid which is a pretty low-mess way of filling them. (I'm personally not coordinated enough to pour them and not knock them over or get the exact level of fullness I want.)

This product arrived promptly and was received just as described. My order arrived in a box as shown and the count was correct (some reviewers have stated their order arrived in a bag and was short). I made a small batch of homemade lip balms to try them out. They work great... no leaking while waiting for the ingredients to harden and the caps stay on nicely. The tubes are a nice size… 5.5ml, which I believe is the standard chapstick size you find in stores.I’ve used about 1/5 of the tubes so far. I didn't add coloring to this batch so my lip balms are a cream/white color, but the clear tubes would be great for tinted lip balms. The clear tube also allows you to easily see how much product is left. I prefer to use labels that do not cover the entire tube so that you can still see how much product is left.The only issue I had, which was no fault of the product, was filling them. I used a medicine syringe and ended up spilling some of the liquid (the hole in the syringe was not big enough to allow the liquid to flow out without partially stopping up and spraying everywhere) and I ended up knocking over a tube while trying to fill them. My husband made me a wooden holder for the tubes, so next time I will try pouring the liquid into the tubes and see how that works. If you fill large quantities of lip balm tubes at once, it may be wise to purchase a holder made for this purpose.I’m very happy with my purchase and will purchase these again.

I add melted cocoa butter petroleum jelly to these lip balm tubes. The hold up really well, even when accidentally sent through the wash cycle. Can't beat 50 lip balms for the cost of the tubes and petroleum jelly.

After about a year of use, these still work great. I saw that some other brands don't go down all the way (so you can only fill about half of the tube). I've used about half the box so far and every single one retracted all the way to the bottom and worked as expected after they were filled. If it's not pushing the product up all the way, your product probably needs a firmer structure, or the lip balm is too warm (stick it in the fridge for awhile to solidify). My lip balms are just slightly softer than your typical ChapStick and the tubes work perfectly with it. Just be sure to wait until the balm is completely cool and solid before you try pushing it up for the first time.

This is my updated review. Well, I had a little adventure with my order. I ordered a box of 50 tubes. Never thought I had to count to double check. After making my batch of lip balm (25 tubes), I had only 5 empty left. That's 30 tubes in a box, not 50. I contacted the seller asking to ship the missing 20 tubes not hoping for even a respond. I got a respond within just a few minutes confirming that they will ship the missing 20 tubes. So, I am much happier now.Besides this incident, the tubes are perfect size and work great! Great deal! Recommend but advise to count when you get them.

I have purchased several brands of lip balm containers to use in my business. These are by far the best quality, and I have ordered them several times and will continue to do so. If you are considering these my advice is to buy them. The price is very good for the quality. You can screw them all the way up and use all the product, unlike some brands where you loose product in the bottom that you can never get to. The screw mechanism is good, tops fit well, they are clean and molded well. I've never had a problem. I only wish the larger package was sold on Amazon as well!
