Nice replacement and recommended
I have a very old Craftsman stud finder that, while it worked well for years, it seems to be dying. Also, it found the edges, not the center of a stud. This one one is a worthwhile update and upgrade. It had been very accurate so far and it finds the edge-center-edge well. The little push and scratch feature is pretty nice too.Looking for a very good stud finder for those weekend projects? I recommend this one highly!

Easy to use
Works great. I actually was surprised the depth finder. I was able to use it to find a stud through half inch OSB with it.

not quite as easy to use as I thought but well made and it does work if you follow instructions
It's a little hard to get use to I have never used one before and it takes some concentration to use it properly

Did not find studs.
I live in a building that was constructed in 1841 therefore the stud placement was anyone's guess. It was critical to find them in order for me to hang a heavy item on the wall. This stud finder came with NO instructions. The indicator light came on for electrical but I was not able to find the studs. It was a waste of money.

It works good for the price. Its not always accurate at first. You may need to take some time in getting used to it. After you get the hang of it it will become easier to use. It also has a AC indicator light and is accurate.

Great stud finder
Finds metal studs behind 3/4 in drywall very easily and with great precision. It also allows you to mark the center of the stud and the AC detector is very useful too.Haven't tried to find wood studs with it yet.

Hard to understand and with no real instructions
I've had to Google how to use this correctly and still can't find anyting. This does detect studs but the AC LED also flickers and beeps when there is no electrical line behind. It's confusing.

Not a word of instructions.
The product, relying on the Craftsman name, is apparently better than rudimentary, but I could not find a word of instructions. I have had stud finders for years, and this is not one of the best ones.

Preciso para su uso correcto.
Compré este producto porque en la reseñas y preguntas ví que podía detectar materiales como metales y ductos eléctricos (tuberias) que estan ocultas en la pared. Y aunque sí llega a detectar lo mencionado, es un poco confuso y dificil de manipular. El material con el que está hecho es muy simple, nada espectscular. Lo sigo probando y por el momento no he picado un tubo de pvc o de cobre. :D
