Good moisture gauge
Good and accurate for alfalfa hay, but the stick isn't steel and so it's weak.It could break if you are not careful, nonetheless. I have not broken mine

Good meter, been using them for years! Needs a back light!
A back lighted display would be great instead of using a flashlight to see the screen, since a lot of baling is done at night!

Easy to use.
We had one of these before while we were building our straw bale house. Then sold it once the house was done. Turns out that I would recommend a straw bale owner to keep one handy. You never know when moisture can creep into your walls. But this meter with the long probe is perfect for testing bales. The readout is easy to read. It's easy to use. No complaints at all.

I only had it for a month, but it worked as expected
Readings were repeatable and appear correct (ie the bales that were made of poorly dried grass before bailing indeed show the higher moisture content as measured by this device).Overall, it seems to be sturdy.

Weak probe
The probe does not seem very stiff. It bowed and bent slightly the first time I used it.
