Stays cold, good to use on a hot summers day

Best mug yet. Turned my beer to a slight slush just perfect

I bought this as a gift. I was originally going to decorate it, but I didn't have time. It's still the perfect gift. My dad uses this all the time, and it's lasted for over a year so far. (I bought this December 2023.)

It keeps the beer VERY cold, actually.... TOO cold ! If you aren't outside in the heat, or drink fairly slowly.... ice will form on the inside of the glass as you drink it.It's really for warm weather, or fast drinkers....

Years ago I found one of these similar type of "Freeze" Mugs at a, Yea, you guessed it, a "Thrift" store. Not a Dollar store or a Dollar General store but a used stuff "Thrift" store !!!! It was a real good one but the reality is that sooner or later they start loosing the (freeze) liquid Very Very Very Slowly in the ?? "Sealed" ?? walls around the outside of the Mug !!! But Absolutely NO need to worry since this Liquid is Absolutely Safe and NON toxic !!!! That is "IF" it ever happens to you, as for me I am not ever going to loose even one "Molecule" of sweat over it !!!! Anyway, This Particular Mug is pretty nice and keeps my Whatever Beverage nice and cool for "Hours" especially if I drop a couple of Additional Ice Cubes in with it all !!! Sometimes with extra ice cubes it turns into a (Semi) Water ice treat which is fine with me !!! The one thing is, that it does NOT hold 16 ounces, and even 14 ounces fills it to the very "Tip"-Top" of the rim !!! 12 ounces is more like what it should be rated for and then you still can add a couple of ice cubes for extra long cool enjoyment !!! All in all I am very Pleased with it, although it "Seems" a Tad pricey, but that's "Inflation" taking our hard earned dollars away, these last several years. I bought this to replace the one I broke. First the pro's.1. It arrived quickly and no issues 2. After washing it was put and the freezer and froze fast.3. I coldness lasted a long time 4. Look, it looks exactly as shown on the website so no surprisesConsNone

Living in South Florida, I am always looking for a way to keep beverages cold. This is perfect. I bought two. Great find!

Tip 1: Use peanut/mixed nut lids for coasters, they perfectly fit the bottom of these mugsTip 2: If you have time, pour your liquid and leave mug in the freezer for 2-5 miinutes (depending on temperature of liquid). This dramatically cools your beverage.The mug is okay, but takes up a lot of space in the freezer. You really can't get by with just one, as they take hours to freeze, unless you mostly drink hot tea or coffee. I bought four for this reason, because I am constantly drinking water, usually mixed with one can of soda per day.My current residence does not have an ice maker, so I rely on cube trays.Unfortunately this mug does not replace the need for them, although it does reduce my demand. The frozen mug is the equivalent of two pieces of ice. If you already have a cold can or bottle, this is probably sufficient for your needs.But if you need the ice for tapwater, room temperature cans, or only mildly chilled beverages, you will still need ice.Like the title says, this mug is worth about 2 pieces of standard tray cubes of ice. Maybe 3.If your drinks are already cold, then this mug may be all you need. If, like me, you have a beverage cooler/fridge that isn't that cold, or drink a lot of tapwater, you're still going to need quite a bit of ice. (Or if you just prefer your drinks very cold and not just chilled.)I've attached a pic. A 12 oz can fills just to the lip of the gel/freezer wall, so:1) Technically, this mug might hold 16 oz exactly to the rim of the mug, although that's obviously a risky proposition2) Anything beyond 12 or 12.5 oz will not be in contact with the frozen portion of the mugI'm not complaining, just explaining, I'd say treat these mugs as maybe 14 oz for practical purposes.The reason I give this 3 stars is because while it's fine, it's not amazing (5 stars) like most of the reviews. I'd probably give it 3.5 stars if I could.My deductions are for the amount of space these mugs require, the time it takes to freeze them*, and the relative coldness, and capacity of the mugs.All those things are okay, but not great.Not everything we find merely useful or occasionally handy needs to get 5 stars, that kind of defeats the purpose of rating things.I do appreciate that many users have had these mugs for a long time and they continue to function, I may come back and raise this rating to 4 stars if that's the case.* Which is fine, as well, you will just need multiple mugs, which increases space.
